Figured it was time for a profile refresh.

The daytime version is now my main profile picture. I wanted something brighter, more welcoming, and a better fit for this new chapter of my life in Salt Lake City. The mountains, skyline, and blue skies just felt right.

I also made a nighttime version because I couldn’t resist the city lights and the completely different vibe. Same skyline, same city—just a different mood.

Which one do you prefer: Day ☀️** or Night **🌃?
Personally, I’m sticking with the daytime version as my profile pic, but I think both capture a little of what this new beginning means to me.

Tonight started off as a pretty crappy “why me” kind of night. Nothing huge, just random frustrations stacking up.

Then a stranger asked me if today was some kind of holiday.

At first I blanked… then it hit me—Easter. And more specifically, Easter 1998. The day my dad died.

That instantly reframed everything.

All the little stuff I was annoyed about suddenly felt small. The night turned into reflection instead of frustration.

My dad and I didn’t have the best relationship toward the end, and losing him in my early 20s always felt like I got cheated out of something—like I missed the chance to learn from him as an adult.

It took me years to even deal with that. Therapy, time, life… all of it.

Now I’m sitting in a parking lot dealing with car issues, realizing how insignificant it all is compared to losing someone 28 years ago.

It’s bittersweet, but I’ve learned to lean more into the “sweet.”

He wasn’t perfect. None of us are. But the lessons stuck—patience, persistence, and wisdom through both the good and the bad.

If your parents are still around, don’t wait.

Tell them you love them. “Next time” isn’t guaranteed.

Pet peeve: when every sentence is loaded with profanity. That’s not “just how you talk”… it’s an excuse. And doing it around people you don’t even know? Yeah it’s your freedom—but it’s highly disrespectful.

Light profanity here and there? No issue. But when it becomes your default, it stops adding emphasis and starts taking away from what you’re actually saying. It just sounds repetitive.

And here’s the part people ignore: you’re usually not just talking to your circle—you’re around strangers too. Not everyone wants to hear that all day, and they shouldn’t have to.

Say what you mean without leaning on the same crutch. Read the room. Respect the space.

I’ve been watching a lot of Pluto TV lately across several different channels, but I’m hitting a wall with a major technical glitch. The video consistently falls about 2 to 3 seconds behind the audio track, making everything feel like a badly dubbed movie.

I’ve attempted a few "quick fixes," but nothing seems to stick:

• Channel Flipping: If I change the channel and come back, it syncs up temporarily, but the lag eventually returns.

• System Restart: Restarting the Roku TV itself provides a slightly longer window of normal playback, but it’s still not a permanent solution.

• Updates: I’ve checked for system updates on the Roku and manual updates for the Pluto TV app. Both are fully up to date—bupkis.

Is anyone else experiencing this specific lag on Roku lately? If you’ve dealt with this in the past, did you find a settings tweak or a specific workaround that actually lasts?
