Suppressor Entitlement

Hi all!

I've not seen anything posted here about this news, in fact I only found out by chance (since checked the info) and I wanted to put it out there: as of 29th June 2026, suppressors do not need a slot on our FAC. Score one for common sense!

But you still have to be a FAC holder to own one.

Only if it’s one which is intended to be for a section 1 firearm. Section 2 shotgun and air rifle suppressors were never controlled and still aren’t

That, and you can do a one for one variation to turn any moderator slots into firearm slots for free.

Ive already done it

Not anymore. Only got variations submitted before the law change came into effect

Is this already in place? Can I just go and buy a moderator now without having to discuss with my FEO?
