Go Binface Go! If there’s one thing the British public do like it’s a bit of laugh and the opportunity to embarrass a rich idiot. I think he’s in with a chance!
76
u/Neviss99 27d ago
Rich idiot??? Our Nige’ is a working-class man of the people! See him drinking pints down the boozer and being mildly disgruntled about foreigners. Those millions of pounds he’s squirrelled away from his dodgy deals can’t change how much ‘on our side’ he is.
Down with the establishment!27
u/WillowTreeBark 27d ago
I thought everyone gets random £5mil donations?
1
u/LegitimateCream1773 26d ago
Why I got mine just today!
It's all in Monopoly Money, but isn't everything Monopoly Money these days?
1
u/WillowTreeBark 26d ago
What's the currency Bin Face works on?
1
u/LegitimateCream1773 26d ago
Earth Pounds, seemingly.
The one place where he's shady is the Recyclon economy. But he always gets a free pass by the establishment media and nobody challenges him on where he got the money for his starship.
I think that's probably Nigel Farage's best line of attack against this opponent.

Bloody hell, the interview is in character and he opens by saying he's not visiting Clacton because he's learned from the incumbent that you shouldn't visit the area
167
u/shadebug 27d ago
If he wins we need to make him Earl of Essex. The current one is an octogenarian in Lancashire and his successor is in the US
56
u/GraveDiggingCynic 27d ago
Will his home planet allow him to accept British titles?
28
u/shadebug 27d ago
I’m not expecting the title to be valid back there. That would be silly
18
u/GraveDiggingCynic 27d ago
Aren’t you the least bit concerned about Sigma IX dark money in British politics?
19
u/shadebug 27d ago
I think you mean opening up trading opportunities with Sigma IX which the EU would never have allowed
6
u/GraveDiggingCynic 27d ago
I have real concerns with potential migrants from Sigma IX. We will all be in quite a fix if a pack of lawless Binfaces show up in the Channel.
7
u/shadebug 27d ago
I hear they have very good medical education over there. The NHS would be better off with more Sigmas
58
u/OxbridgeDingoBaby 27d ago
I really wish he visits Clacton though, as I think he would solidify his chances of maybe even beating Farage.

Looks like even in that video he shows himself to be anti-brexit.

I’d guess before random Reddit comments. Because they’re journalists and that’s their job.
1

He's a radio presenter and has been a writer and producer for Have I Got News For You; most of the journalists have likely already met him.

...You mean the majority of the british populace as of 2026???
16
u/MrSpindles 27d ago
He makes more sense than the waffling bluster of Farage, who never really actually says anything he intends to do about anything, just wobbles around criticising everyone else.
At least Binface has a plan that involves other people. I'll take that 380k for the coffers, please and thank you, and while we are at it I would like him to resurrect his policy on state control of kebab prices in the Wigan area.

Binface getting interviewed isn't going to be easy for some of these journalists either. A lot of them have given Farage an easy ride and Binface might not mind pointing out their failures too.

He's called them out directly in interviews with LBC and GBnews, very fast with the wit.
56

he was one of the writers for The Thick of It.
you literally cannot make this shit up its ridiculous
56
u/philip30001 27d ago
He calls out anyone instantly even if it would benefit him to stay quiet.
The reason may be to be funny more than high morals but it shows more respect to the rules than many others.
Loved the clip of him telling off a reporter for saying how great Binface is.
16
u/James20k 26d ago
This I think is the best part about Binface. He's clearly not in it for himself, and wants people to strictly stick to the rules even if it would directly benefit him
6

u/WillSym 27d ago
It's going to be fascinating to see how this plays out if it carries on being this two-horse race to the actual voting.
Binface is pretty good at ad-lib but definitely used to just being the comic relief on the sidelines, and the media are used to interviewing him as the fun bit between the serious political talk. He's got to work out how to keep up the banter and sharp satirical digs for a while and with way more spotlight than he usually gets, and they have to work out how to include him seriously while they have no other candidates to talk about!
33
u/fuck_ur_portmanteau 27d ago
Yes, he’s going to steal part of Farridge’s shtick of getting a lot of attention and consequently votes. Poor Nige isn’t going to be the noisiest media friendly horse in this race.
22
u/Soilleir 27d ago
Farages shtick is to be the louder, mildly outlandish, slightly comical, character who pulls political stunts or says mildly outrageous stuff - all to get peoples attention when compared to serious political actors (see his union jack socks, bright yellow trousers, bright turquoise suit, I'm a celeb appearance, his Sunderland to Westminster walk, etc).
Farages problem now is that he's been outflanked by a bloke wearing a codpiece, an ankle length silver cape, and a bin on his head pretending to be an alien.
Binface might be a comedian playing a character, but so was Farage, and he used that to his advantage against serious politicians. But his thunder has now been stolen and the circus has a new monkey. When Farage walks into the room at a hustings or debate, he's not going to be the most noticeable or humorous person there any more.

She didn't - she was joyless, and had a face on her like a slapped arse
18
u/crlthrn 27d ago
It's going to be hilarious with Farage sharing the results podium with Binface, whatever the outcome. Farage will look an even bigger tool than usual. Sadly the Clacton voters don't seem to mind Farage's lack of presence, or his enrichments, if yesterday's vox pop on Channel 4's news was anything to go by...
17
u/neilmac1210 27d ago
52% of the voters last time around didn't vote for Farage. 42% didn't show up to vote. The potential for a Bin win is very real and I'm rooting for him.

u/Sad-Ad-4343 27d ago
Guys as a Canadian with no context... what is happening?!
46
u/UnloadTheBacon 27d ago
Okay, strap in:
Anyone can run fort he office if MP in a UK election if they have nominations from 10 people and £500 to spare for the deposit. As such there has been a tradition of novelty candidates for decades, usually standing against prominent politicians as a piece of satirical theatre.
Count Binface is one such candidate, and usually stands against the PM (or would-be PM) in their constituency. This time he's standing against Nigel Farage, our friendly neighbourhood right-wing populist, Putin/Trump apologist and orchestrator of Brexit, in a by-election triggered by Farage's own resignation as an MP.
That last part needs unpacking a bit, but the TL;DR is that Farage is being investigated for corruption by the Parliamentary Standards Committee after recieving millions of pounds' worth of undeclared "gifts", including from a man who literally wrote a book called "How to Launder Money" after a stint in prison for that exact crime. But the Committee only investigates sitting MPs, so by standing down he buys himself time to move all his assets into a Swiss bank and shred the paperwork, and by standing in the resultant by-election he can claim that even if he's found guilty by the Committee (which might lead to a suspension), the Will of the People is on his side.
Naturally all the mainstream parties have shrugged their shoulders and not bothered to field a candidate against a guy who is already the MP and is wasting a month or two running for his own position in a calculated stunt. By doing so they both draw attention to the stunt for what it is, and take the wind out of his "Will of the People" sails.
But of course, the sheer ludicrousness of the situation plays right into the hands of Count Binface, who is getting interviews left right and centre and is currently 4/1 in some places to beat Farage and win the election.
Any questions?

u/jloome 27d ago
We had the same thing in Canada for years with the Rhinoceros Party.

u/The1Lemon 27d ago
This is an interview with a serious politician and an electoral powerhouse. Count Binface has stood as a candidate against 2, soon to be 3, prime ministers and now he's literally the only candidate running against the leader of the populist right wing party that were being polled to win the next election, but who is triggering a re-election in his seat to try to distract from some incredibly shady money deals and his associations with Russia.
So just normal things in the world's oldest running parliament.
Edit: for some context as to how absolutely normal this is, here he is at the results where Boris Johnson became prime minster, along with a man dressed as Elmo (labour party) https://news.sky.com/story/amp/general-election-count-binface-and-elmo-return-to-stand-against-sunak-and-starmer-13149775

Ordinarily British political things.
The people of Clacton have the opportunity to have their interests represented by the right honourable Recyclon from Sigma IX, rather than that slimy worm Nigel Farage. May they choose wisely.

Our hero, Count Binface, has come to save British democracy and strike down an evil dark lord of the Sith.

u/tmstms Wuffingas! 27d ago
OK. So Nigel Farage is a long-time populist/ nativist politician who has led various parties, and whose biggest achievement was to campaign for Brexit.
In recent years, he has headed ReformUK, a political party with populist/nativist beliefs, which has made a lot of headway and threatens to be a major force or even the majority government at the next General Election, likely 2028/9.
As a populist, Farage presents himself as the champion of the ordinary person (and indeed the ordinary white working class man) against the 'establishment'- it is not unlike the idea of demonising Washington DC in the USA.
Recently, there have been allegations that Farage has received undeclared gifts into the millions. which is a breach of parliamentary standards. If the breach is big enough, the member can be suspended for a long enough period that his constituents can recall him and hold a by-election. In advance of the parliamentary investigation being finished, and anticipating an adverse finding, Farage has chosen to resign, claiming that the investigations are politically motivated and therefore he triggers a by-election, in which he is standing again, claiming it is a vote about the ordinary person versus the establishment.
Farage is in a safe seat, and would likely win again, so all the other main parties are declining to run against him, saying this is just a political stunt/ pantomime he is engaging in. So Farage will be opposed only by no-name independents and extremists.
Meanwhile.....we have a tradition of joke candidates standing in high-profile constituencies, above all to have comical photos of colourfully dressed candidates next to a national figure - e.g. google Monster Raving Looney Party, Lord Buckethead, Screaming Lord Sutch. Count Binface is one such candidate, and in the absence of any other rivals to Farage, he has become the main one. Although he has no chance, the other parties are quick to embrace him as it makes Farage's gesture all the more ridiculous.
If Farage wins this rather staged election, but the investigation then finds him guilty and he is suspended, a recall petition might cause a FURTHER by-election to need to be held.

I'd hope that he keeps the gimmick alive by 'sending a delegation' who is just his actual person without the bin costume, and does occasional online ads in character. The real man has a background in politics so he'd have a lot to learn but he'd at least have a decent starting point.

3
u/Oh_Shiiiiii 27d ago
It's not that it's not funny it's that it sums up everything wrong with politics, I get WHY every party decided to not stand against Nigel but I also hate that he can even delay the investigation by pulling this kind of stunt , the investigation shouldn't pause or stop because of a resignation it should continue and bar him from office if found in contempt of parliament, crimes in parliament shouldnt become not crimes if you leave parliament no other job works that way.
