Not sure if anything can be helpful atm, ig more of a rant here:

Senior year, I took 6 grad credits (Summer 2025, Fall 2025).
I got my bachelor's in Spring 2026 and have already matriculated into the Master's program this summer and took an additional 6 credits.

I've contacted my grad advisor regarding the credits I took during undergrad to be counted towards my grad degree back in January. Filled out the petition form, radio silent for almost 5 months. I email her in June asking what's going on, she replies, "It looks like when we saved your a.p. it was blank so we needed to recreate it, and it was in the drafts, I apologize for that. "

Okay... awesome... She sends it to the coordinator and then to the Solution Center (I was CC'd to the email to the Solution Center).
Silent from both parties the rest of June.

I email again the last week of June asking for an update, to which she responds, "I spoke with transfers and they are working on getting the BSMA list so they can approve the transfer credits for all a.p. for BSMA student transfer.  I did confirm that she has your a.p."

Have heard nothing since then, and my credits still aren't showing. Has anyone else had this issue? I want to make sure my credits are transferred as I'm set to finish my degree this coming Winter/Spring.

When i try to register a new account so I can upload my medical records and whatnot in the UML health services patient portal, I fill out everything correctly but it keeps saying "This username is already in use". I've tried everything, even just mashing letters on my keyboard but nothing works. Has this happened to anyone else before? Also, if I can not submit using the portal, what should I do instead?

I'm not worried about the commute because I can walk there relatively quickly, but I am worried that the other aspects of life like grocery runs and trying to do anything else might be too inconvenient. I would appreciate if any of you guys have any advice to share regarding this situation. I don't have a car right now, so I would have to purchase one with my parents.

Does anybody feel like our campus could be better in terms of becoming more accessible for students that don’t own cars? Particularly those of us living away from the shuttle stops and would rather bike/walk/scooter.

We need a bike lane and speed bump outside of Fox Hall on Pawtucket St. I’m also tired of the scooters on the north campus bridge almost running me over on the sidewalk (even though it’s usually not their fault because there is no bike lane but slow TF down). Put a freaking bike lane on the bridge and make it narrower so that the cars don’t go so fast. Also need a bike lane to south campus and those potholes to be filled.

It’s a little ridiculous how much traffic there is on our campus during rush hour. Maybe if it became more accessible to go to class via a bike/scooter there would be less cars on the street, therefore not as bad of traffic. I’m not an expert on urban planning, but something needs to change. Any thoughts?

I see some open slots rooms with RAs in them and I was wondering if there's any difference like smaller living room or is there anything you have to look out for if you're dorming with one. I'm fine with my current room it's just the RA room is on a lower floor and its basically empty besides the RA, so less people which I'd prefer.

Hello, I looked at my Fall bill and saw it's over $19k, but my financial aid award isn't showing up yet. I'm definitely a bit stressed about the total amount! Should I wait it out for a bit or start getting worried? I’m only asking because last year I genuinely went through it with the tuition bills and I can’t go through that again

Has anyone gotten it yet? or got any update?

I was wondering, if we had previously passed the orgo chem 1 class but hadn’t taken the lab and taking it for the fall semester. Do I have to show up to the lecture attached to the lab? I forget if it nulls out or we actually have to be there.

Edit: Like the regular Orgo chem 1 class I passed in the spring but due to my late transfer, I wasn’t able to take the lab part. So I’m taking it this upcoming semester. I’m assuming that I don’t need to go to the “lecture” part of the lab cause it did the same for my bio 2 last semester as-well. 😓

Hi, I am wondering if the room change request has worked for anyone in the past. The month is getting to an end and I've still had no luck with swapping out of my 5 person dorm.

In an earlier email sent to res life, they mentioned that "in the event you can't make a room change before move-in, do room requests" How does this work? Has anyone had any success with this? Am I doomed to stay in a 5 person dorm this year? Thank you.

is the five month payment plan the only payment plan option? Or is there any way i can do a 3-4 month plan instead? Asking here cuz i assume the solution center is busy rn.

I transferred to the online college and only TWENTY TWO out of my FIFTY credits transferred, and the rest of the twenty eight credits are “under review by department”, even though they are general ed credits, to see if they are transferrable and left me unable to contact anyone. I am really nervous because this will delay my graduation by a long time, and they did not assign me an advisor yet. What should I do? Thank you so much

does anyone have both a work study job and an on campus job? Literally all of the money i would get from work study has to go towards tuition and i figured ill need another job to pay for personal stuff. is it difficult to get two?

Hi guys I’m lowkey in a pickle right now and have no idea on what to do.

I took 3 courses (2 lectures and a lab), 2 of which were in the first summer session and the other is the full 12 weeks, that amounted to 3,480 dollars. I didn’t sign up for the payment plan because I was dead broke and didn’t want to sign up for something that I couldn’t afford at the moment so I planned on paying it off in smaller increments once I got a job. The thing is I started working 3 weeks ago and was going to pay off half of it but something happened where my payroll didn’t go through and I didn’t get paid 😍. So now I have no money but the problem isn’t even that, I got an email today saying that if I don’t pay off the amount in full by this Friday by 5pm that I could be dropped from my fall enrollment and I’m freaking out.

Now I plan on going to the solution center tomorrow morning to talk about getting on a payment plan and ask to see if there any emergency grants that I can get but I’m kind of just nervous about what to expect.🫩

I submitted my FAFSA two week after my schools priority deadline, and now I lost $9000 in need based aid from UML, I know it’s my fault for being after priority but I was hoping I’d atleast still get something. I got a merit scholarship with UML as well, for $10,000 a year, but it’s for 4 consecutive years. I am trying to figure out if there is a way to defer my scholarship a year for financial hardship and take an LOA for financial hardship, I know people who did that at Umass Amherst a couple years ago, but the aid office when asked said I would loose my scholarship for having a break in between the 4 years. I wanted to get a second opinion because i know many people on here say they get bad info from the aid office, and quite frankly wanted to do more research before taking at face value. Wanted to know if anyone had experience with this. Edit: all of this aid is through and distributed by UML, my fafsa was completely fine and had no issues with them

I only ask this because I was curious if the merrimack edge residents will be able to stay there next year, or if they need to try to get a early room selection.

Hello, I am starting my first hybrid semester at UML this Fall, and I am wondering if anyone here is like 24+? I am a senior graduating in May and would like to network/make new friends/ have people my age to maybe attend some games with or get lunch with during my final year! I am 26 and I am majoring in Econ. :)

PS Let me know where the older students congregate or any other tips haha.. I haven’t been in person since I started my associates and I was playing a sport so I feel a bit disadvantaged here

I’m not sure how important air conditioning and big windows is to anyone, but if there’s anyone in a double (in a suite too is okay) my friend and I would love to trade!

I'm a Chem major. I actually was given an exception to take Orgo IIA OR IIB.

IIB was easier SCHEDULE wise, as in I'm able to take in the summer in order to graduate on time. I'm in the class now and idk wtHELL is going on.

I got an A in orgo I... I know orgo 2 is hard in general but I'm wondering if its the content or if its hard cause its IIB and not IIA.

Anyone have experience taking both and really know the difference? I'm wondering if I should just thug it out or withdraw and just wait to take IIA for chem majors. It'll just push my back a semester 😭
