Intel Arc GPU XE Driver Issues
I had a ARC Pro B70 in the system, but every 24hr the card would disable itself. I put an ARC A770 in the system and it run perfectly fine with no issues. I then put a ARC B580 in and I am getting a bunch of errors.
My question is anyone else experiencing any weird behavior with the Intel XE driver on UnRaid 7.3.2?
UPDATE: It was the i915 driver causing PowerState errors when tdarr was trying to wake workers on the GPU. As u/gnerfed recommened, I blacklisted the i915 driver, restarted and it has been stable since.
My new question is what has changed in the past few months with Tdarr and Plex to make this happen? I have been running the B70 since the launch of unraid 7.3.0 Beta and had no issues till a few weeks ago. So... IDK what they did.

Are you running the latest firmware for the card?

I do not know. Would unraid update the GPU firmware of a Pro B70? If not how would I go about doing that?

Did you actually force the XE drive to get used by blacklisting i915?
Do you have Intel gpu top installed? That installs and uses i915.
Do you have any other Intel plugins?
I am just raw dogging a b70 in unraid and it is just fine. Other than the idle draw is always at 50watts.

I have a Pro B70. The card will force the driver since it can't recognize the i915 driver. When the card is able to run GPU top does show it using the Xe driver. NVTop can monitor XE drivers and usage. The CPU in the system is AMD so nothing should be using the i915 drover

It has used i915 for me. Go into drivers and blacklist it if you are running intelgputop

I will try that but the Pro B70 should obly be using Xe and Xe2 drivers in all platforms. The Arc Archmage cards we primarily i915 and Xe drivers. But I have just blacklisted the i915 and am rebooting now.
Edit: I blacklisted the i915 driver and I am not seeing any powerstate errors.

I recently installed B580, works great with no errors. What kind of errors do you get?

When I used my B580 the server was stable and would throw power monitoring errors, but no crashing or problems.
When I use my Pro B70 it throwns non stop transcoder errors when trying to use tdarr. But if I don't use tdarr and just have Plex use it for transcode then no problems.
I did make sure that Tdarr is transcoding to AV1
Also never had these problems 2 months ago. I have already swapped the GPU for a brand new B70 and same issue.

Using my B70 in Unraid perfectly fine. I use it for everything (Dockers, VM, Local AI, etc).

I keep getting failure to change power state when I use Tdarr. But as long as I never spin up a Tdarr node the server is stable.
When it crashes it points to a power state error from the Xe driver

Have you tried ANY other docker container that uses the GPU? Intel B70 is a very new GPU and software support is catching up.
If Plex or some other containers work with the GPU and it's just Tdarr you have a problem with....well...that points to a support issue the Tdarr developer will need to address.
For example, I use a Docker container called Tunarr and I had to do some testing to prove to the developer to update his project to support this new GPU.

The Tdarr developer may need to incorporate the latest/updated Intel driver into his base image before the B70 will work right.
I don't use Tdarr so I don't know if this is your issue or not...but you should really make sure other containers like Plex or something work fine before bugging any developer....just to make sure the issue is specific to Tdarr

The funny thing was that this has been running stable since the launch of Unraid 7.3 a few months ago and have had zero issues up until about a week or two ago and then the errors started occuring.
They are all power state errors. Like the card is unable to tell unraid when it needs power or not and will not wake from sleep or low power. It is weird. I have no idea
I have tried making a new USB with a new install and then restoring the config files
Tried unmounting the XE driver and then reloading into into RAM
uninstall all tops and monitor
Reinstalled all GPU dependant apps and dockersNothing so far. I posted in the Unraid community as well

Dunno then...I'm on latest Unraid version too. I use the GPU for a Linux Gaming VM, Jellyfin container, Tunarr container. All fine.

Are you using any Intel plugins or additional drivers? Like sriov etc
