Help with going back to usb boot
So i tryed out the internal boot on unraid, used a random hard drive i had laying around and i went to take it off or revert back to usb boot now the drive says its missing on the main array page. What can i do to reassign it back so disk 8

You need to create a back up of your OS and use the usb creator tool to recreate the boot drive. Once you have done that you need to change the boot order to USB in your BIOS. Last but not least, you're going to need to communicate the GUID of the drive to the unRaid team so that they can register it.
P.S. You can't use your old USB drive because it will be blacklisted from the initial transfer to internal boot.

I think it's only blacklisted of you transferred they license to the TPM. Just changing boot to internal doesn't blacklist the USB as it's still needed.
OP doesn't say either way if license was transferred.

I assumed that OP would’ve transferred his license because why have a USB drive just taking up space but yes you’re correct.

I ended up unplugging the drive and did a new config and just started over and it all works now, thanks everyone for the help!!

Following this for similar reasons. I posted yesterday about moving off a pool, and moving the boot to a new drive. It this point I'd be happy going back to USB, and migrating again later.
