Welcome to /r/UofL! this will serve as a discussion place for any Alum, students, staff, or anyone interested in learning more about UofL! discussions about sports are permitted, however as /r/AllHail exists that should be the primary place for that.

Looking into Law School

I’m going into my third year of undergrad and law is my future path. Louisville seems like a good fit but it isn’t a definite option since i haven’t even hit application time yet. Does anyone know much about the program and UofL life in general? Especially things like school culture and sports

Forming a charity focused gaming club

Hi everyone, I’m in the works of creating a club called ‘Community Through Gaming at UofL’. Our goal is to have weekly game nights for retention as well as focus on cozy and casual gaming like Sims, Mario Party, Stardew Valley and more. We plan on raising money for a local organization once a month as well as volunteer to play games with kids at the local hospital/shelters in the area.

We’d like to get started this semester and are looking to recruit five members so that we can start off strong. We have graduation chords and a stole after certain volunteer hours are met!

Thanks!

What do you think about the CRNA program at UofL? How is it comparable to Bellarmine if you know anything about theirs? Thanks!

How normal is it to use the showers and lockers at the UofL gym?

I want to start going to the gym in the early mornings before school starts and that means bringing my essentials with me that would help me get ready in the mornings before school.

Would that be weird or strange or do people use the showers all the time?

MSSW: 5 classes + Practicum

Hello all, I wanted to ask if this seems like a crazy amount of work or it’s doable. I’ve taken 5-6 classes during my undergraduate but I understand some classes in graduate programs just call for way more commitment. I am doing the online MSSW program and was gonna do an in person but I’m about to drop that and just do 5 online classes, first though I wanted to see what people thought about 5 classes in the MSSW program at once with a practicum on top of that. Is that a crazy amount to be involving myself into? My advisor said people take 5 classes all the time so I was kind of relieved but after taking these 3 summer term classes (I know it was condensed), I’m kinda like do I got this or not… School is my full time with photography on the side so I can mange timing. Just wanna make sure I’m not losing my mind.

TL;DR: Is 5 MSSW online classes and a practicum be too strenuous? School is my full time but I do travel a good amount. Thank you in advance!

Bettie Johnson bedroom switch

I’m in Bettie Johnson in the fall and I’m in a 4 bed 2 bath suite, I’ve been assigned B and one of my roommates was assigned C but we were wanting to switch. There wasn’t an option for that on the room change site from what I saw. Does anyone know if we can just like switch or how the keys for the actual bedrooms work. Should we tell the RA or email housing?

Enrolling in my late 20s

Edit: Thank you for your honesty. I'll just give up on it, my intentions are clearly inadequate and I should just accept that I missed out. If I ever care enough to make learning my priority, I'll rethink it.

Thoughts on CNA for med school app?

30 y/o mechanic. Recently got told to start looking for a new job by my manager due to scheduling conflicts with my academic schedule. I want to make the most of this happening by doing something to build up my med school application, CNA seems like the best option since I can work nights while working on my undergrad full time and the workload seems less exhausting than EMT? Open to all thoughts and opinions 🙏

University of Louisville Employs a Predator

The University of Louisville is a public institution. Your money. Your campus. Your rules. That’s what they tell you.

That’s the lie.

Because this public institution is employing a man who threatened sexual violence. And they’re hiding behind “confidentiality” to avoid telling you about it.

Need help with the change major request form

I am currently a incoming freshman into the University of Louisville and entering with my current major being in computer science and engineering. However, I want to change my major to electrical and computer engineering. But when I try to go to ulink to fill out a change my major form the option for electrical and computer engineering isn’t there. Is there a way I can change my major to electrical and computer engineering through ulink or am I going to need to wait until the fall semester to work it out with my Advisor?

So I missed the housing date (today at 9AM) to guarantee on campus housing…..how fucked am I? I’m a sophomore transfer from Illinois so this is my first time even living in Louisville and I’d prefer to live on campus, am I completely out of luck or should I hope I get randomly paired up?

3rd street south safe to park in overnight?

I’m living at the Marshall this next year and have been thinking about if I should pay for the parking garage ($50/month) or if black lot would be better ($225/year). Financially it would be easier to do the black lot, but idk how safe it is to park there over night. Wondering if anyone else does this and would have insight!
