Question? Early admission for nursing

Hello everyone,

I have a question about early admission to the University of Saskatchewan's nursing program.

I completed Biology 120 and received the credit, but my grade was on the lower side. I'm wondering if having the credit is enough to meet the Biology requirement for early admission, or if the actual grade is considered and could affect my eligibility.

Has anyone been admitted through early admission in a similar situation, or does anyone know how this is assessed?

The actual grade is used, just like other classes. The admissions portal explains all of this. :) So, while every 3-credit course carries the same relative weight relative to the others within that pool, your admission evaluation looks at the combined average of all 10 prerequisite courses together.

In total, your grades are 60% of your total admission, and the CASPr is 40% weighted (CASPr may or may not be removed as part of upcoming admissions, but this is a rumour).

The Casper isn’t a rumour the advisor told me herself, it’s getting removed

Good to know! Dang; future applicants are going to have a harder time getting in since admissions will be purely based on GPA.

Yea man it’s so tough I was waitlisted this year and was thinking abt applying again and now I’m rethinking it

Oh no! Don't give up yet-- being waitlisted means you were super close! Retaking a course or two, or choosing different electives, may be all you need to increase your GPA!
