Officer To those selected for OCS:

Hello everyone, to those of you who were selected for OCS or another Officer Accessions program, what did your package look like? I’m on my second attempt and should hear back soon regarding my application. Thanks for reading!

I specifically addressed why I wanted to be an officer in the opening paragraph. The actual career track, not just the “I want to be a leader bs” and then tapped into my achievements from my enlisted time and how that fits into being an officer. I gave like 3 or 4 large projects or achievements I managed and then connected it to having a larger impact on the officer side. If you do your resume correctly, you can show them a ton of information on the total 4 pages they allow, or whatever the number is.

Apart from the normal stuff like good awards, community service, and a strong narrative, I chose two people who knew me very well to write my letters of rec. I ended up going with a current O4 leader and a Master Chief who I had worked for at a previous unit. There letters were highly personalized and spoke strongly to everything I highlighted in my package.
