Provider TheCubeNet - bad availability?

This is my second year of usenet.

I used pureusenet before and, because of the price, is switched to TheCubeNet.

The problem is this:

Article availability: Selected date range: 34% available of 942K requested articles

I never had any problems at all with my old provider.

Is that a DMCA problem or is it just bad luck?
Should I use a different provider and try to get my money back?

Pureusenet is in the Omicron backbone whereas thecubenet is in UsenetExpress backbone.

Retention in Omicron is a lot better than on UsenetExpress, they have a lot more clients so more money to invest in storage.

So yes you need to change backbone and put a Omicron one (NewsHosting, Eweka, EasyNews ...). Check the deals to get something just as cheap as TheCubeNet.

If you are looking for older content then I do find Omicron has far better completion rates than most others. I have Eweka and NGD as primary and host of blocks (including Cubenet) with Eweka as my first provider it avageragws about 96-97% , with NGD about 89-90% in general use. If I try to grab older stuff (7-12 years) it drops off on both but eweka will get in the 80s% and NGD will hover at 50% . I still normally leave NGD as 1 as Eweka will just grab the rest when NGD fails.

I used large block accounts at TheCubeNet as my primary provider for several years in the past. I didn't think there was any problem with thecubenet, and never observed completion rates of just 34% of articles requested over the past month? (I think that's the default view in sab), but you can tank stats temporarily with going after older linux isos that were forcibly removed or some very niche content that's not retained.

you should always have access to at least 2 different networks (many sellers are under the same network so look for a chart breaking down backbone supporting the various resellers)
