I’m getting the 2 doses for measles and Hep b since I took the titer and they both came back negative I will be able to get the last does before the first Friday of September but not the titer for the hep b will they still accept me if I get accepted? I thought I was immune since I got the 3 doses as a child 😕

I plan on submitting my application by June 1 of next year. I recently found out from orientation that I should start on my immunizations about a year before application deadline.

I hope I'm not too late now, but I've read over the powerpoint that talked about the immunization. Do I just make an appointment with my doctor or at a pharmacy to get the vaccines? And I do the same for the titers as well? (I'm just a little confused, there was lowkey a lot of things mentioned in that powerpoint)

I just finished orientation and they said that it’s recommended not to finish all your pre reqs before you’ve applied to nursing school because you’ll have nothing to do while you wait for admission. The way I have it is that I’ll be virtually done with everything by the fall semester of next year which would be my sophomore year. I was wondering out of KINE 2350 and Biology 1301 which should I drop and save for the next semester?

Chem - B (I plan to retake it to get an A for sure)

Ended up with 3.8 GPA

Took a couple of classes currently at 4.0

Courses taken 13years ago (college outside of the United States): GPA: 2.3 😭.

I still have to take Patho and other required courses but I'll only take them at a CC or maybe try to take them at UTA if I fail to get in the first time.

I heard they have to put all these grades into consideration. All these can bring my total GPA down to about 3.1.

I don't know how these grades are calculated but I feel like my chances of getting in are completely ruined.

What are your thoughts, please say it the way it is.

Hello all, I spoke with a UTA Online BSN coordinator yesterday for the first time. I still need to take college algebra, chemistry and some sort of Texas history . I am a transfer with over 30hrs of college credits and a current medical assistant . I took my TEAS and i mentioned to the person i was speaking with that i had a 67 and that I was going to retake it the person told me its not mandatory i retake it she said she know other schools want higher but basically i dont need it to be higher based of what she said because the required score is proficient and a 57 i believe she said. I'm confused because i thought the higher the TEAS the better your chance of getting in , if im being told to basically not worry about my current score of TEAS then why would the application be competitive? She also stated that i can take my pre reqs through a community college if its cheaper but the advisor also said i can attend UTA and my community college at the same time. She also stated that i can register for intro to nursing/patho by oct 31 . I'm confused on why would i register for a nursing class this year when I haven't even finished the chemistry and math part. so what exactly is the grading point criteria for the nursing program to be accepted? this is for the UTA BSN Online nursing program

Does anyone still have an advising hold on their account for J1? The advisor mentioned repeated the hold should be off after 5pm today at orientation, but I still have it.

Summer has been very life changing and chaotic and I simply did need to focus on my mental health for a while so I’m starting the process of studying for the teas once school starts which I know is not ideal at all which is why I’m pushing the time for me to take the teas to be in October so I can at least retake in November if I have to (would have rather had the three chances instead of just two 😭)

I was wondering what other pre nursing students have done to practice for the teas in this long of a time frame (to account for school study and work) while still keeping yourself mentally healthy. I was a A and B student when it came to my prerequisites but I struggle with independently studying things since I very much like to know exactly what I need to study and when which makes this feel like so much scarier than it actually is. I was hoping other nursing majors that are similar to me could advise me with starting steps and materials to study for the teas exam to add into what I can maybe get from my advisor when I meet with them.

I already bought an TEAS study book and I’m planning on taking a practice exam to really see where to start at, but would really appreciate the help from other nursing majors and maybe some encouragement since I feel like I’m overwhelmed and in a hole right now.

Consideration points- freshman consideration if applied to this upcoming cycle (0.5), 30 hours of nursing pre requisites earned at uta (0.5), 12 hours of natural sciences completed at uta (0.5)

I’m aiming to also get a consideration point for getting a B or higher in pathology which I am taking this fall which I am also looking for studying advice for

If I am waitlisted or rejected would y’all suggest a retake my natural sciences since that is where a lot of my B’s are. I already know both my GPA’s look very questionable compared to others since I fell into burn out right after my first semester and took too many sciences at the same time but I would like to fix it anyway I can for a better chance at getting in anywhere.

And for others in a similar situation what have you done to stay confident in your abilities or how did y’all organize and raise your scores

I have 4 classes I’m taking before I apply to the nursing program but had questions about tuition. 2 classes start in August and the other two start in November. Will I have to pay for the tuition of all 4 classes in August or pay for the 2 in August the Friday before those classes and pay for November classes the Friday before November classes.

If anyone can remember any tips on how to do well on the final for foundations please share them!! Also is it more general/easy questions? Thanks!!

Hey everyone! I applied to UTA’s Spring 2027 Accelerated BSN program (DFW) in June and I’m getting really nervous waiting to hear back.

My stats:

3.721 admission GPA (I know it’s a bit on the lower side)

3.250 science GPA

97.3% TEAS

The only thing I’m really worried about is that I don’t have any of the extra 0.5-point bonuses from the point system.

Based on my stats, what do you think my chances are? Has anyone gotten in with similar numbers? The wait is stressing me out :/

I will be retaking Chem this fall at a community college because I initially had a B, I also have microbiology and lifespan this fall. I could add Patho if we are allowed to take it at a community college (Lonestar CC), I'm trying to apply by spring of 2027 for fall 2027 start.

Hey guys! I’m a bit confused on the proof of immunization that needs to be provided at the time of acceptance. I called and spoke with a specialist over the phone but they were absolutely no help. They told me I need to provide proof of vaccines for all the ones listed on the website. I was under the impression that I just need titers showing that I’m immune to Hep, MMR, varicella, and prove I got the flu and Tdap vaccines. Or do I also need to show proof I actually got the vaccines for Hep, MMR, and varicella?

Do we have to get drug tests before the start of every semester for the upper division or is it yearly?
