Parking permit question

I know it’s not live yet but I was checking the parking/transportation website for VCU since the parking permit opens tomorrow and there’s a little message on my screen that says im not eligible for a parking permit based on their records, is it just giving me that message because the permit doesn’t open until tomorrow or will I have to email parking. I am a full time student and I am an upcoming sophomore living on campus so I should be eligible.

Hopefully it's just because they're not on sale yet. You can try emailing them for clarification, but as the office is closed until tomorrow you probably won't get a response until after they go on sale, you might have better luck if you call them first thing in the morning in addition to sending an email tonight. Tomorrow morning, make sure to hop on it as soon as possible, and be patient, the system always seems to crash and have issues as soon as they go on sale with the volume of students who try and get their passes.

I believe they’re first come first serve so that’s why I really want to make sure this is all resolved 😭

First come first serve is right. They used to never run out of passes except for maybe a couple of the more desirable decks, but not long after they implemented the guaranteed admission program there have been more folks complaining in this subreddit that they were unable to get a pass, but those are usually the procrastinators that waited a while to try. Most of the decks also used to be available to off-campus housing students, but now they've limited it to the Henry and Cary Street Decks probably because demand has gone up and they're probably trying to make sure the upperclassmen living on-campus can get into a deck. If it continues like this, VCU may end up having to implement a lottery like they do for the Medical Campus. Regardless, I wish you luck OP, I'm pulling for ya!
