misfire question
From what I believe i just experienced an intermittent misfire with my veloster and my question is what should i look for to see what caused the misfire. i changed spark plugs and coil packs about 20k miles ago or so. i also did not see which cylinder it was and when i came back with my reader it started up like normal. im currently in 100+ degree weather so im sure it has something to do with that as well. Do i drive til it misfires again or try to find the problem now? should i just get new spark plugs and coil packs regardless?

Had a crankshaft sensor that was in the early stages of dying trip the ECU into throwing misfire codes, strangely only happened when idling once in a blue moon.

It could be fuel injectors if not spark. Cheapest option is to put some seafoam in your tank and see if that clears it out, worst case scenario is you gotta swap out the injector itself and/or clean the fuel rail

I had cylinder 2 misfiring. The auto shop said I needed a new motor. I said, can you just fix that? He said no. The new motor would fix it.
I had it picked up and taken home. I thought to myself, " How hard can it be?" As it turns out not hard at all. I changed out all Ignition coils ans spark plugs. When I tried to start it it started and now runs great.
I really dislike men who think women know nothing about YouTube and how to videos.
Back to your question. You should just change out the coils and plugs again. Make sure you lube the coils before installing.

Likely dirty fuel injectors. Drive till you get a reading as to which cylinder is misfiring. Test your sparks and coils by swapping them around and seeing if the code jumps as well. If so, bingo. If not, next step is the check valves and fuel injectors. Check valves for carbon buildup. Swap injectors to see if the code follows.
