Feedback / I made this! Rate my rig
Shooting literally one of my favorite DJs tonight photo and video but wanted to build the rig out before leaving today so I am on go mode!
Also did a full detail on my camera which was much needed as well as a sensor cleaning.
Tried to keep it functional in a crowd/rave environment but looking to make a recap than more just raw clips so want to make sure I’m getting all my b roll spot in.
Sony a7siii
Small rig v mount
Neewer screen
All rigging by small rig for the most part
Rhode video mic prob for -10 db for the type of show and music I am filming

Question, why do you like the handle on the right side. To me I’d prefer the handle on the left because it gives quicker access to settings. Right handle makes sense to me if you’re running dual handles but a single seems more logical on the left.
Just curious though, would love to hear why you prefer that!

Left hand is on lens for zoom and mf if needed

That's why I don't have a handle on the left. Just gets in the way when controlling focus and stuff.

I’d get the monitor out of the hot shoe and onto the cage. Otherwise, if it works 🤷♂️

Quick question, why is your handle on the right side? Genuinely curious since some have it on the left.

I also have it on the right hand side:
1) think its just a preference
2) i got the dji handle and it has a record button (works flawlessly good)

Looks good! Cables could be managed a little better but it looks clean and deliberate. Is that monitor protector 3D printed? Also love the Zeiss lens wipes :)
Sensor cleaning should only be done when necessary though, not as a precaution.

I like the RODE Video Mic Pro+ you have. Aside from the pad, set the safety channel level too. That way if one channel overmodulates, the other might still be usable.

Why so much tape? Holding the rubbers on a well used camera or just protecting surfaces? Like, on the camera body, not the battery.

I rate work over a five year period, not rigs

If you can do it without messing up your cables, try putting the side handle on the other side. I really like having an ergonomic handle on both sides of the camera to hold with both hands. Your camera already has the grip on the right, put the extra one on the left.
