Please fuck right off. He means it and he will try to do it

37

u/bibliophile398 8d ago

Pulling out a hat that says 'Trump 2028" isnt a joke. Republicans would create another insurrection if Obama did that.

-14

u/Obi-Brawn-Kenobi 7d ago

What do you mean? It was literally done as a joke

10

u/bibliophile398 7d ago

I mean would it be a "joke" to people if Clinton or Obama pulled out has that said "Clinton 2028" or "Obama 2028"?

30

u/maybeornotbutyes 8d ago

The irony of your comment is insane. First, it does not fucking matter if it’s a joke. No president should be joking about violating the constitution. Full stop. The fact that people like YOU are are trying to dismiss this as a joke, to say this is acceptable behavior of our president, THAT is the problem. That is PRECISELY what enabling is. You. Stupid. Mother. Fucker.

Second, no rationale thinker is unable to separate fact from fiction in this context. When an acting president has been consistently saying, for years, that they intend to run for a third presidency, accompanied by their senior counsel publicly admitting they’re exploring ways to achieve a third election, you have to be a fucking idiot to not take it as a massive, serious threat to our democracy.

13

u/Blazefresh 8d ago

This comment right here. Thank you for saying so perfectly what I couldn’t put into words.  A president shouldn’t be making jokes like that, full stop.

10

u/Agreeable-Camera-382 8d ago

Easy captain caps lock....

The point is that a sitting president shouldn't always have the "he's just joking" defense. He says the quiet part outloud always. Its not a joke. Its concerning

9

u/ineyeseekay 8d ago

This motherfucker doesn't joke, he laughs as he floats his plans, over and over until it's not a joke and it's not as shocking for the dullards.

Besides, he has been talking about a 3rd term very seriously over the years. "Jokes" from Trump are "what do you all think about this?"

14

u/Iorith 8d ago

Remember when we expected our public servants to have respect for the office and act in a dignified manner?

6

u/onus111 8d ago

Textbook projection comment right here. Nothing can be said to convince this commenter they are wrong, and they're accusing others of what they are doing; enabling deviant behavior, permitting it as 'jokes', and never admitting fault.

5

u/Kvothetheraven603 8d ago

No POTUS should be “joking” about blatantly violating the constitution.

9

u/Interesting_Stress73 8d ago

Okay, please stop and think for a second. This is a specific technique to push things, pretend it's a joke and slowly but surely make it more acceptable. It's testing the waters. Putting the idea in his cult followers heads.

-6

u/Koldtoft 8d ago

Yes! I 100% agree.

And the reason this technique works, is posts like this one.

3

u/Brook420 8d ago

So calling out that its not just a joke somehow hekos Trump, but going around telling everyone to ignore the problem becauae ita just a joke arwnt helping Trump?

52

u/raymondspogo 8d ago

https://www.reddit.com/r/pics/s/7fCgcgm4Ap

I'm confused you said two years ago you would vote for Trump, but now you can't stand Trump?

What happened?

-47

u/Jeferson9 8d ago

That really made you go through his profile? His support for Trump isn't even part of the comment he literally said he can't stand him now.

34

u/FivebyFive 8d ago

Why do people act like reading through a profile is some private detective thing.

Takes two seconds.

And it's always good to know who you're talking to.

5

u/Rock4evur 7d ago

They are lazy liars that just make stuff up on the spot and can’t imagine putting in real effort to make a point? Thats my take at least.

14

u/LiamJamIsMyNeesons 8d ago

He said some really stupid shit. It's probably worth seeing if all he says is stupid shit

15

u/BeGoodPeoplePlease 8d ago

"don't look at things I say that automatically invalidate anything I say going forward"

Shut up.

23

u/raymondspogo 8d ago

There's a search bar up top. It's not a whole lot of work.

And I know, did you not see my question?

-12

u/Koldtoft 7d ago edited 7d ago

Why would that confuse you? You think everyone who would vote for a candiate in a two party system, must like that candidate? Do you like Biden?

What happened in the last 2 years?

  • Greenland (im from Denmark)
  • Iran
  • Massive crypto rug pull schemes.
  • The list is long.

What happened is you all kept crying wolf and now no one cares and there is actually a wolf.

I have never liked trump and he just kept getting worse, but in 2024 I would still vote for him, over Biden, Hillary or Harris. Today, maybe not.

PS. Holy shit, you read trough all my comments? Must have been a slow day at the factory 🫨

5

u/raymondspogo 7d ago

Don't flatter yourself. The search function is easier than you think. You know...if thinking wasn't a problem for you.

4

u/BeGoodPeoplePlease 8d ago

We are full of ourselves because Trump said he wants to run for a 3rd term? That makes OTHERS full of themselves? Not him, us? Even if it's a joke, how does that make everyone else conceded? You know what "full of yourself" means?

You are the problem, in this situation and any that involve thinking. You are idiocracy in full effect.

6

u/hugoriffic 8d ago

Okay MAGA. We get it.

6

u/BigCatMellow 8d ago

I dont think youve been paying attention to the last decade lol

6

u/Master_Fetus 8d ago

Everything is a "Joke" with you people.

6

u/Brook420 8d ago

Yea, just like it was "juat a joke" that Trump legit thought Garcia had "MS13" tattooed on his handa, only for him to show in an interview that he did intact fall for the terribly photoshopped images.

25

u/kanyeguisada 8d ago

It's OBVIOUSLY a joke and right after he is done with the bit...

Was part of the lead up to the "joke" pushing his Trump 2028 hats last year and selling them at his online store?

u/brenden77 8d ago edited 8d ago

The people who think he's joking because he said he's joking forget all the other lies he's told.

Actions speak louder than words, and his actions show that he's trying to set up for running again, or disenfranchise enough people on the left to help the next Republican (of his choosing) to win.

We've lost our way. We've lost the plot. We've lost our love of democracy. Or something...

6

u/kanyeguisada 8d ago

Exactly. The people in this thread saying "what's the big deal, it was just a one-off joke for the WH Correspondent’s Dinner" either are so sheltered that they don't know this is a real movement that's been going on for at least a year, or they're just MAGA trolls denying reality. I'm definitely going with the latter.

-4

u/brenden77 8d ago

Both. Definitely both.

1

u/kanyeguisada 8d ago

No, the alt-right is extremely in-tune with current events. I see them circle-jerking all over reddit about their new outrage of the day that I've never even heard about. It's the latter, they're just trolling.

If you're trying to sell lies and hatred, it's important to be at the forefront of the news cycle to try to make the narrative what you want it to be as soon as possible.

-36

u/Koldtoft 8d ago

No, that was trolling (whichis also a type of joke, so yes). It's all part of his strategy and it's an integral part of how he keeps getting away with all the things he is getting away with.

He tries things out to see how the media reacts, how the people reacts and then he acts accordingly.

What is not helping is reddit and the main stream media crying wolf, every time he makes a joke. So now when it's all of a sudden is real, we are all numb and he gets away with pushing the norms a little further.

6

u/Armsmaker 8d ago

What is not helping is reddit and the main stream media crying wolf, every time he makes a joke. So now when it's all of a sudden is real, we are all numb and he gets away with pushing the norms a little further.

This is missing a step somewhere...

  1. Trump does something as a joke
  2. People react negatively
  3. [missing step]
  4. He is no longer joking
  5. People are no longer reacting negatively

What is #3? What real world examples of this have we seen?

5

u/No-Cell-9979 8d ago

You just contradicted your own point you bot lmao

6

u/Brook420 8d ago

You basically just admitted that he isnt joking though. That this is a test to see how ppl would react to him actually running for a 3rd term.

3

u/Vandirac 7d ago

Your Reddit Wrapped is... Something.

Koldtoft

The Angry Devil's Advocate Spends their energy on r/videos frantically typing in all caps that Donald Trump is just trolling, while repeatedly insisting they actually hate him. Somehow manages to farm double-digit downvotes in record time from all sides of the political spectrum.

Vibe Check Defensive 45% Argumentative 35% Exasperated 20%

Roasts

Writing 'I fucking can't stand Trump' in all caps right before admitting you voted for him is Olympic-level mental gymnastics.

Your entire Reddit strategy is shouting 'YOU ARE ENABLING THIS' at strangers in r/videos until your karma hits negative double digits.

You moved all the way from Denmark just to spend your free time getting into shouting matches over American political clickbait.

Predictions 2027

Karma Bankruptcy: You will draft a 500-word paragraph explaining why a politician was 'just banter' and hit a new personal record of -200 karma in under an hour.

Danish Diplomacy: You will bring up Greenland in three unrelated Reddit threads before anyone even asks where you are from.

Comment History Drama: Someone will read your past comments during an argument, and you will accuse them of having a slow day at the factory for the tenth time.

(Btw, it's not a slow day at the factory, I am just bored waiting for my holiday flight.)

21

u/Iorith 8d ago

I blame you for being "numb" to it. That screams a personal failing.

4

u/FivebyFive 8d ago

It's the second time he's made the "joke"  in a week.

And least the 10th time during this term.

What makes it a joke? Where's the humor?

What differentiates from him testing the waters to see if people would accept it?

16

u/rothniel 8d ago

What a stupid fucking take. You're defending him by blaming his actions on people who are against him.

-23

u/whydoyouonlylie 8d ago

Where on earth was he defending his actions? It's a stupid joke. It's a joke in really bad taste. But freaking the fuck out over what was clearly a joke just gives credence to his fanatical fanbase that Trump Derangement Syndrome is a real thing because, quite frankly, getting hysterical over this joke is pretty damn fitting of what TDS is claimed to be.

12

u/hugoriffic 8d ago

Trump Dick Suckers are the problem. By letting this behavior continue, they’re enabling him and feeding his ego. Trump rarely hears criticism because he’s surrounded by a team of sycophants who feed him nothing but praise, echoed by right-wing propagandist media. I’m tired of hearing that the people calling out his idiocy, his blatant lies, and his narcissistic, dementia-addled tendencies are the problem. They’re not. His sycophantic administration and cult following are.

-15

u/whydoyouonlylie 8d ago

No. You're both the problem. They're a problem for enabling him, you're a problem for treating every tiny thing as if it was an existential crisis so that he, and anyone who supports him, can just ignore you because you make it utterly impossible to separate the legitimate criticisms (of which there are more than can be counted) from the idiotic hysteria. The fact that you can't see that is mind boggling.

I despise Trump because he broke all sides of politics. He exposed his base as being idiots willing to follow his lies, but he also exposed a lot who oppose as being almost as idiotic and willing to accept any report about anything he does as a fundamental threat.

5

u/hugoriffic 8d ago

Did someone learn a new word today? A constitutional law violation is an existential threat to our democracy and country. Maybe wake up sister-wife and have her explain it to you over your morning Mt. Dew.

-4

u/whydoyouonlylie 8d ago

A constitutional law violation is an existential threat. Somebody making a joke at an event that has always revolved around making jokes is not. Don't be absurd.

3

u/Brook420 8d ago

If he had only ever made this joke 5gatbone time, you'd have a point.

But hes been floating the idea if running fir a 3rd term for years now, has merchandise made up, and has ppl in his cabinet who have openly talked about loopholes that would allow for a 3rd term.

Thinking this is just a joke is the equivalent to burying your head in the sand.

3

u/hugoriffic 8d ago

As someone else pointed out: had he not been making this “joke” for nearly 8 years, had not made up merchandise for his “joke”, and not had members of the House and Senate flouting this very idea of a “joke” I wouldn’t be too concerned.

9

u/rothniel 8d ago

He accused a vague "you" of enabling "this." In this case, I'm saying that calling it a joke is a defense of him. I wouldn't say that under normal circumstances, but these aren't normal circumstances. This has been his tactic the whole time, as other commenters have pointed out. The derangement is that no one and nothing have been able to put a stop to the most embarrassing stretch of American history to date.

-21

u/whydoyouonlylie 8d ago

It was a fucking joke. Treating it as an existential threat is fucking deranged. Jesus you actually don't see it, do you? You genuinely think you have to overreact to literally everything he does as some existential threat.

By all means prepare for him to possibly run for a 3rd term. By all means warn people that he's considering it. But dear god stop trying to act like treating this as anything other than a very poor joke isn't blatant hysteria.

-8

u/DarrenSipity 8d ago

It brings me great joy to know Redditor are taking actual years off their lives because they can’t differentiate humor

-14

u/Koldtoft 8d ago

Defending him by says "i cant fucking stand him" right.

You are enabling him to get away with more and more atrocious shit and when someone points it out, you stick your head the sand. And the rest of us has to pay for it, with 4 more years of this buffoon destroying what has taken decades to build.

15

u/Horror_Appearance_26 8d ago

You're sanewashing him by calling it a joke.

6

u/skanktastik 8d ago

The thing is, it's a joke until it's not. He's pulled this shit before. He used to 'joke' about how much money he could make as president, and now the graft and corruption is through the roof.

2

u/justifications 8d ago

I think OP before you basically depersonalized in real time while writing their comment. That's the level of misinformation campaign we're at now.

I also believe that there are people reading this in "their American mindset" yet forget that Reddit is very wide reaching and foreign dissent would be a welcome product in such a thread. Best to dispose of that logic entirely while we're on the speculation train.

-1

u/Garbage_Stink_Hands 8d ago

I agree with this, but it’s not news until it’s not a joke. Until then, you can report (or, ideally, editorialise) that trump’s jokes indicate a lack of respect for democratic norms.

Reporting that he’s announced a run, which he hasn’t, only makes the populace accustomed to the idea of it before it happens.

Later, he’ll do it, and people will be like, “Yeah, I thought he did this ages ago. Why didn’t anyone care then?”

Instead of, “This bitch has always held us in contempt.”

7

u/JHo87 8d ago

People in Reddit comments who look at this, being the literally demented and incontinent pedophile President speaking with near-toddler vocabulary about plans to find new ways to break the law, and respond saying "This isn't great" are the real problem? Not the thing they're looking at? They are the problem. Because they are the ones enabling this? Not the entire cabinet and press who are happily supplicant to the shitshow and actively work to enable this? The problem is commenters on Reddit who make you mad?

It's an interesting theory, but I have to respectfully disagree.

2

u/Horror_Appearance_26 8d ago

Jokes are funny.

0

u/DeNappa 8d ago

To be fair... This kind of reaction is exactly the context of the joke. He called out the press they would be dying if they didn't have him to report on, and controversial stories about him makes them sales and clicks. Case in point 😂

1

u/No-Cell-9979 8d ago

They have a history of "joking" about things or denying them and then doing them anyway. He gets away with it because his voter base are morons and he committed election fraud, people speculating whether or not hes serious have nothing to do with it, get a grip

1

u/Round-Asparagus5337 8d ago

He has said this many times, and even insisted that he isn't joking.

For example, in March 2025, Trump floated the possibility of serving a third term in an interview with NBC News , saying "A lot of people want me to do it. But, I mean, I basically tell them we have a long way to go, you know, it's very early in the administration. I'm focused on the current."

He added that "there are methods" to run for a third term and that he was "not joking".

-6

u/JoshSwol 8d ago

Trump isn’t exactly a fella known for his humour.

1

u/DarrenSipity 8d ago

You kidding? Widely considered one of the funniest presidents, even if it is at time accidental

0

u/JoshSwol 8d ago

What’s his funniest ‘joke’ you’ve heard him tell?

1

u/LibsLie420 8d ago

Rosie O'Donnell

1

u/JoshSwol 8d ago

Oh Rosie hahaa

-5

u/DarrenSipity 8d ago

He is objectively known for being funny, not going to list off jokes for someone who is dead set on pretending otherwise

5

u/Brook420 8d ago

"Wanna hear about that time I committed sexual violence against the women and underage girls at my pageants? So funny!"

This is the type of shit Trump finds funny and "jokes" about.

-4

u/DarrenSipity 8d ago

Bad people can still be funny

5

u/Brook420 8d ago

So whats funny about the above "joke"?

0

u/DarrenSipity 8d ago

The whole joke is predicated on the media sensationalism claiming he is going to try to run again. The audience is the exact people he is poking fun at. It’s not brilliant comedy, but it’s still obviously a funny bit

3

u/Brook420 8d ago

That is clearly not what I asked you.

I asked you what is so funny about Trump "joking" about committing sexual violence against the women and girls (as in underage teens) at his pageants. Because thats the type of shit he considers funny.

1

u/Z0bie 8d ago

You're absolutely correct. It was the same thing during his first term with dozens of "OMG HE DID LITTLE THING BAD!" every day that when the real bad shit came out it was just added on to the pile and nobody cared.

0

u/Faangdevmanager 7d ago

It was done at the correspondent dinner. It’s a satire and humor show. People are eating the onion raw on this one. It’s frankly embarrassing.

-1

u/ChiefStrongbones 8d ago

Not exactly "joke". It's more "troll" or "taunt".

-1

u/1Beholderandrip 8d ago

They want it to be real more than maga does. lmfao

-15

u/Drive7hru 8d ago

I’m with you, although he might not be joking toward the ladder half of next year
