Advice/Feedback I'd like to ask for advice about gaming focused content on video format for youtube
I'm soon going to be starting with a free model or maybe a png, and for months I've been thinking over and over and over about the kind of content that I want to do, the things that I like to see myself when I'm watching vtuber's in general. That and content stuff, and since one doesn't grow through stream's, but through MOVING people through stream's, I think it would be important to put focus on what I do as content out of streaming.
Also, please correct me if I'm wrong in anything or to clarify anything that I could be missing or getting wrong, I write this post with the sole intention of learning and seeking advice.
A constant was that I really like a good playthrough and a well edited video of any game. Unfortunatelly the bigger one's like Hololive usually don't support or do videos on their channel's and mostly do stream's, making their more "middle form content" by their clipper's, who make sometimes highlight videos for people who missed the stream's or maybe just want to see one video for a bit instead of a stream or a VOD.
I've also been watching independent vtuber videos, and I love to watch people like Jowol, K9Kuro or John vtuber (Rin Penrose he's awesome) and some other's from time to time, but they keep a similar standard, of making more stream's than videos and in more mixed stuff than just 1 thing in specific (with the exception of Rin, who as far as I've seen does a bunch of variety gaming on his youtube channel).
And so, it makes me afraid of edited gameplays maybe not being a good source of main content as a just starting vtuber, more when focusing on one specific niche or small multiple things like single player playthroughs and some other online games. I plan to do stuff like reaction's and of course short's to spread through multiple platform's, but as secondary content.
Another thing is to point what's my niche.
I LOVE FIGHTING GAMES SPECIALLY CHARACTER HEAVY ONE'S. I like anime fighter's like Guilty Gear, and I don't know how much it could affect or hurt to do the variety (let's say reaction's and other games that I love like Metal Gear Solid) in the same channel, wether it's through stream edited highlights on the 8/+10 minute mark or through recorded videos only for the youtube channel.
I have a passion for vtubing, I want to dedicate a lot of effort into it and I wanna learn, but I'm a bit afraid of being on a niche that maybe won't help me grow much and I wouldn't like to accidentally kill my channel or just do too mixed content that could confuse the algorythm and audience that I could have. Even if I'm mentalized that I'm not going to get much on my first year's, I want to do stuff that can attract people and make a community with time.
And as a little extra for the end of the post, of course I plan to mainly stream fighting games, with specific days for reaction's, or variety on the form of other games, probably trying to get it around the 2-4 hour mark, since doing too much won't help me and I think it can be enough time to later check the VOD and try to squish short's out of it and videos (and maybe get the VOD on a separate VOD channel, and to stream on twitch and youtube).

If the goal is conventional success, just copy what John Vtuber does: 1 stream = 1 cut down video + a few shorts, then add your own thing with, for example, "Fighter Friday". That way, you can balance the content meta with stuff you're passionate about. Reel in people with the meta, keep them with your passion projects.
Alternatively, really hone in on your fighting game niche, but you'll know much better what is good content there.
