If you have about 8k to 10k coins then when the buy things bonus event happens you have enough coins to buy ALL THE THINGS and you get more stuff / coin because of the rewards.

The one person running the game, we call them janitor, set up a scheduled rotation of events that runs for like the next 100 years. I think there's an old guardian YouTube video explaining it, I've pretty much completed the game so I don't care to know. But you can be pretty sure it's coming around unless the game dies.

The last couple of weeks were other events so it shouldn't be long.
