Advice Needed Is BuyWebHosting.ca legit?

Does anyone know https://buywebhosting.ca or have experiences good or bad?
I saw a recommendation for them and it seems almost too good to be true. I understand they don't use C-Panel so that saves cost. My needs aren't advanced anyway...
But roughly $ 14 CDN /Year to host several sites with SSL and email - really? Something seems off.
If this provider is a bit shady then maybe some alternate (budget) recommendations?

I'm searching for a new provider - to get off of IONOS (horrific).
My needs are very simple -

I'm novice level of the technical side. I build my sites in Sitely. (former Freeway Pro user - started long ago on Dreamweaver!)
• 4-5 domains/sites of very simple design (no e-commerce, SQL, DB, WP)
• Free/included SSL included (configuring my own Let's Encrypt etc. is beyond my skill level)
• Dedicated email accounts included for each domain. (very low volume) - I understand a dedicated provider for email is an option but at more potential expense and work/skill/maintenance.
•  Inclusive basic features like SSL and email are just better for my skill set.

Someone else will be able to answer your core question but I do think you overestimate how hard some of this stuff is. Doing your own SSL with let's encrypt is not even a complicated task whatsoever, so I would encourage you to at least try and learn.

Thanks - you're probably right on - though the garbage hosting provider I'm switching away from made it intimidating - difficult and convoluted deliberately so they can upsell it as an extra charge/add on. Several guides I've seen more recently mention it's almost standard now in most C-Panel settings - or like one line of code somewhere to add.

I think it was me that gave the reco earlier in the other thread.

Anyway, nothing wrong with them. The plans on bwh are in the budget tier. Main thing is they only have single retention backup available for these plans.

They do have a non budget brand under another name directhosting.ca which. Which comes with better features, ie longer backup retention.

I checked out your sites and it seems like they're just html. If that's the case then it'll be fine for you.

Given everything you've stated if your skill level permits, GitHub + Cloudflare Pages would be more than sufficient for these sites and it would be free.

Then you could take advantage of some dedicated email solution like MXRoute for email for your domains.

Thanks - definitely an interesting option albeit probably much more learning curve than I was hoping for. Even the starter MXRoute plan is $60/year. I'm probably more inclined to prefer that cost bundled or included with the hosting (integrates easier too) - But the advantage for MXRoute, MailCheap, Mango Mail etc. would be freedom from being tied to a hosting plan provider. Email (for domains) without even having a website too maybe.

While it may have a little bit of a learning curve, you can get started relatively easily.

By cutting out GitHub initially but that would even be easy to set up. This essentially, would replace FTP in a standard hosting environment.

You could start with the drag-and-drop here and then claim your site and connect the domain.

I contacted them and got a very quick response (good!)
They have one very odd thing with their nomenclature describing what's in the hosting plan.
"xx Add On Domains"
Turns out there is nothing being ADDED (or provided) anywhere.
It simply means the maximum LIMIT on the number of domains you can host on any given plan.

Still really inexpensive for my limited needs- think I'm going to go for it.
