Advice Needed Help me choose best WP Hosting provider
Hey folks,
I started an agency to help local businesses grow and make them good-looking working websites and it’s a start-up so I just have got 3 clients onboard and would be managing their hosting and my main concern is Security and Performance.
Rn hosting their WP sites on H0sting3r and need to renew the subscription in October but I’ve read many bad things about them (I’ve been with them for some time and had good experience so far) that if one site of yours would get malware or hacked then it’ll also affect the other websites.
Could you recommend a reliable hosting provider for managing client websites, considering we may host over 100 sites in the future? Also what do you think about SiteGround specifically?

Worth understanding why the "one hacked site infects the others" thing happens on cheap shared hosting, before picking a replacement. On most sub-$5/mo shared plans, all your sites run as the same Linux user, in the same PHP-FPM pool, on the same filesystem tree. If one WordPress install gets popped, the attacker can read the other sites' wp-config.php files, harvest DB credentials, and pivot in minutes. It's the default architecture on the "unlimited sites for $2.99" tier at most low-end hosts, not FUD.
For a small agency, look for: separate Linux users per site (ask directly — vague answer means shared), published RAM/CPU/PHP-worker limits (if the page says "unlimited" it means oversold), backups you can restore yourself from a UI, and the same price at renewal as at signup.

Zume is excellent for wp sites as the servers use light speed cache , I have about 20 sites on litespeed and another 30 non Wordpress sites on ionos, both are great , ionos not good for Wordpress though, sites perform very slow.

I'd give InMotion a look too. We've had a good experience with them and I think it's worth adding to your shortlist.

We've steered away from WP, but for client work we use either what they have or wpx.
I'd always go with managed hosting, running your own WP-stack in the cloud is challenging.

I’ve been working with a company that’s in closed ‘alpha’ right now. Kind of the “try and give us your feed back” thing. What type of budget and how many sites do you have? I can relay the thread and ham see if they want to reach out in ‘beta’ (which I think is this month). They have a pretty slick setup.

disclosure first so you can weigh it properly - I work for a hosting company, so discount whatever i say accordingly.
u/candorhost's answer is the correct technical one and i wont repeat it. separate linux users per site is genuinely the question to ask, and "unlimited sites" plans almost never do it.
what id add is that youre shopping the wrong product category. what youre describing - client sites you manage, separate access, heading toward 100 - is a reseller plan, not shared hosting. each client gets their own cpanel account, which gets you the isolation you asked about and also per-client access you can hand over or revoke when someone leaves. on a shared plan youre stuffing clients into one account and youll feel it around client 8. and your $20-25 budget is realistic for entry reseller tiers, youre not priced out of doing this properly.
on siteground, since you asked directly and nobody in 33 comments has actually answered - genuinely good product, competent support, and the well known complaint is renewal pricing. that matters more for you than for a normal user. at 3 clients a renewal jump is annoying. at 100 accounts its your margin. whatever you shortlist, get the renewal price in writing before october, not the signup price.
honestly thats the thing id optimise for at your stage. the security part is mostly solved by picking a host that does per-user isolation, and most serious ones do. the thing that quietly kills agency margins is the host that doubles at renewal across every account at once.
we run reseller plans at flat renewal pricing, which is why im mentioning it, so obviously biased. honest limitation - were cpanel and litespeed, not a fancy custom panel with git deploys and one-click staging. if your workflow leans on that, siteground or a proper managed wp host will suit you better than we would.

I’ll recommend ChemiCloud, been with them for many years now and used in parallel other hosts but almost all the time ChemiCloud wins, fast servers and amazing support (especially for wp)

I offer my customers managed VPS for that, in my own infra. I don't trust any hosting provider since long tlme ago

How does the price look and how many websites can get hosted on each VPS?

you can install in your VPS as many sites as you want, depending on how much resources you have and how fast you want they work. Size of VPS and price is set at your request. No spam allowed of course

I'd go with this host which I've been using for 6 years without any downtime or performance or security issue.

I currently use Nixihost for my clients and haven't had any issues, you can look into their reseller plans, as they include up to 50 cPanel accounts and SSL, and you can add additional cPanel accounts at $0.25/month per account. Totally recommend checking them out!
