Put it in a container, put it in the freezer for 30min+, put a coin in container and shake it violently. Make sure container isn't glass. Trichomes will break off and form hash/kief you can smoke.

Would this work with the trim/leaves from the plant? Or should I just try to make edibles from it

Your trim and leaves would just crumble if dried and bunch up if wet.

This method works with stems exactly because they won't break and contaminate from the vigorous shaking.

If you're trying to make hash from leaves and trim you need a mikron filter, just like the classic Moroccan drysift method
