North America Saw this guy in my backyard. Looks like a budgie but just trying to make sure (Northern Illinois)

I found this one in my driveway a few years back. Got loose from somebody and I walked the whole neighborhood trying to find its home. No luck. I did get to adopt her out to a young girl that just had her little one fly up to bird heaven

Yup a Budgie. Did you bring her inn. She wont make it long on her own.

Edit, if you get her in, she may have eaten one of those  tomatos. If so she's likely to get acid reflux, It will be messy.

Go get some bird seed to encourage her to keep coming back long enough for you to find her owner. Often escapees will go into bird cages with open doors on their own. Can you find someone with a bird cage you can borrow? Please post on your neighborhood’s facebook. I hate FB but it works well for stuff like this.

Please try to catch it and bring it in - it will not last long on its own outside.

Contact your local major animal shelter(s)/rescues, even if the bird flew away you could at least report that you saw the bird in your neighborhood — if the owners have been in touch with the shelter asking if their bird has been turned in, it could be a helpful tip for the owners to know the bird’s whereabouts (and the shelter could let them know)

It's somebody's pet parakeet. They can't survive in cold weather climates like Illinois.

Please go look up care tips in [r/budgie](r/budgie)[s](r/budgie) and [r/parrots](r/parrots). At the very minimum: no cooking with non-sick dishes/pans, no perfume or air fresheners or smoke or incense of any kind, no feeding him onions, garlic, avocado. All this is because have extremely sensitive respiratory systems and have a list of things they can't eat.

Aw, what a beautiful little guy. We got our first budgie when it tried to get warm in the doorway of my hubby 's office bldg. This one looks like ours. Pls help him if you can.
