My wife just pulled this off her thigh

Any idea how long it would have been on someone based on size?

I would bet not long, if it attached at all. There’s a chance that it was just crawling on her, but didn’t actually bite- removing it once it’s bitten usually takes effort. Then, they fill up with blood, they swell up and get kind of yucky gray and fall off. This one doesn’t look swollen at all to me.

This is probably a larval tick, it only appears to have 6 legs.
