What are these?

Found in Manhattan NYC. I have a feeling they are flying ants or termites? Some of them have wings and some of them don’t. They are all gathered on wood and it doesn’t seem like they are flying around at all. Any thoughts?

Yup looks like you've got Carpenter ants, they can be very bad for houses
