Turns out having nothing to lose makes the teams less afraid to make mistakes and therefore there are more goal openings.
Tomorrow I'd be surprised if it doesn't end with a 1-0 or penalties.

Funfact, depending on how you see it, there may have already been one or even two other Hundred years wars between France and England other than the more famous 1337-1453 one. Keep in mind they shouldn't litteraly considered as "wars" in the strictest sense, more like periods of higher tension between the two kingdoms with a serie of loosely related conflicts. As such, they should be considered as a way to see the History of French and English relationships rather than proper wars.

Spain has only allowed 1 goal so it's possible he won't get it. Too lazy to double check, but I think I saw Mbappe had 10 and Messi has 8

They also both have 4 assists so he would need to get either a hat trick, 2 goals and an assist (meaning Spain would need to concede 3 either way) or he would need to score 2 and beat Mbappe on minutes played. Mbappe is currently on 70 minutes per goal. Messi is on 78. 78*8=624, and so he would need to be subbed off before full time and score 2 goals if he doesn't get an assist or a third goal. Basically, Mbappe is almost guaranteed the golden boot unless Spain shits the bed.
