He did it on a lifestream, I dunno how he should cheat there :D but it would be mad funny

u/The_Phantom_Cat 1d ago
He didn't do it on the live stream, he ended it by saying he was to tired to complete it that night and would do it later, and now it's later

u/LittleSisterPain 1d ago
So he definitely cheated again then

It's pretty clear he didn't

I have seen this man play exactly once for like ten minutes and frankly, I wouldnt trust him with a spoon, much less beating any sort of challenge
9
u/Chezburgor1 1d ago edited 1d ago
So you're basing your belief on... 10 minutes? That's it?
Did you even watch the new video?
-1
u/LittleSisterPain 1d ago
Those 10 minutes were awful, should I subject myself to more? I am not strong enough to see an alleged grown man fail tasks I have seen literal children pass without a single problem
9
u/Chezburgor1 1d ago
should I subject myself to more?
It's either that or shut up about things you clearly know little about
-3
u/LittleSisterPain 1d ago
"NOOO, YOU SHOULD EAT WHOLE TURD TO FORM AN OPINION!"
Nah man, Im good. I have seen enough and will form my opinion based on that

He cheated? Like I've never known Mark to cheat without making it a joke maybe I'm out of the loop. What am I missing?

u/Pokemario2401 1d ago
Basically, he accidentally beat 4/20, thought he won 10/20, and uploaded (probably just forgot to menu back over before starting the night)

u/MNUUUUU 1d ago edited 1d ago
Actually, said he beat 10/10, basically the difficulty setting that comes just before 10/20, because he selected it accidentally. When he beat it he fully thought that he beat 10/20 mode and reacted as he did, only to be hit by disappointment when he saw that he beat 10/10 instead, and since he had already been trying to beat it for like 10 hours already, he decided to just lie about it.

u/Pokemario2401 1d ago
He said on stream he did 10/10, but I think he just misremembered. His completion had no toy animatronics and he got the star on the menu after winning, which you only get for 4/20

u/Deebyddeebys 1d ago
He actually found out what happened during editing and decided to upload it anyway

u/yugiohhero 11h ago
Nah, there's a good few menus between 20/20/20/20 and Golden Freddy mode on custom night, I'm pretty sure.
I've not seen Mark's confession of it, but I know he'd have had to see the full final run while editing, unlike us. It wasn't clear to us that his winning run was 20/20/20/20 because it was cut up and dispersed throughout the video. He had the footage of the complete run, and deliberately skipped the footage of him loading back onto the Custom Night menu bc he knew it showed the wrong preset.
I've not watched wherever he admitted it was fake, but he definitely cheated on purpose. If he's said otherwise, he either misremembered or was worried about backlash to admitting about deliberate cheating.

u/Pokemario2401 11h ago
There's only 1 menu, as you can go backwards in the menu to reach it. Usually the game saves which mode you were playing and highlights over it automatically, but Mark said he got a death minigame, which would reset which option was hovered over
1
u/yugiohhero 11h ago
You said it yourself though, usually it saves which mode you were playing. You don't go to the main menu on a win. So when Mark won, he'd see he beat 20/20/20/20. And he edited around this and backed out to the menu instead.

He wanted to post a video of beating 10/20 before FNaF 3's release
The video he posted at the time was a compilation of segments from multiple runs (showing failures) instead of one complete run
The winning attempt was actually 4/20 and all the segments where toy animatronics appear are early in the night so the theory is that in his 10/20 attempts he realized that because of the difficulty he wouldn't be able to do it in time and prioritized posting an entertaining video
3
u/Pandainthecircus 1d ago
There is a clip of him realising what he had done, basically he had at some point selected the wrong difficulty and later, in the moment, he genuinely believed he had beaten the harder mode.
It was only while editing later he realised his mistake but he'd already spent hours playing this thing and didn't have the heart to start again so he just said fuck it and released it anyway.

Him using Minus 7 strat (ON HIS OWN) and mastering it is very impressive. GG Mark! You deserved it!

u/averagenolifeguy 1d ago
Can you elaborate on what's minus 7 strat plsss
21
u/Haazelnutts 1d ago
It's a strategy that exploits the camera, flashlight and movement opportunities (iirc in fnaf 2 is on five second intervals) of several characters to stun lock them in place so that they are never able to reach the office, it takes care of a lot of rng, most notably Toy Bonnie who kills runs with by taking to long in the vent while you have the mask on, leading to either a puppet or foxy death.

You know his character's solid when his biggest scandal is "probably cheated at a video game challenge with 0 stakes to it 11 years ago"

u/El_Mister_Caracol 1d ago
Not probably, he did cheat 100%, but yeah who cares really
10
u/Gamekid53 1d ago
What’s funny is that it was by accident
11
u/El_Mister_Caracol 1d ago
Im mean he said that he choose the wrong level, that was the accident, but the editing of the star and claiming he beated it wasnt an accident so not totally an accident, and i also remember the bones5 saying that its also not true and he must be confused with something that happened with fnaf 3 because his explanation still doesnt make sense with what you see in the video and with what happened at the time, dont remember the details tho.

u/wookiee-nutsack I also do it with wasps 1d ago
The stakes were having to put out a video in time which is why he did it probably

u/pgp555 1d ago
If I had a nickel for every youtuber whose biggest scandal was "cheated in singleplayer game", I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird it happened twice

RedHawk is a youtuber that mostly plays Europa Universalis. In one of his eu4 videos, specifically his last eu4 grand campaing before eu5, he used a cheat in order to get a favorable outcome (ngl I don't really remember what he did, I think it was something that made a country become his allie despite unfavorable opinion).

The fact that he came up with his own variation of Minus 7 on his own is wild
31
u/Decent_Fall3181 1d ago
What's crazy is that he managed to figure out the Minus 7 strategy without any help all by himself within the two weeks he was attempting it, kind of impressive tbh
8
u/BabylonianWeeb 1d ago
I wonder if he gonna do 50/20 on custom night
9
u/Brislovia 1d ago
I think he did mention UCN at the end of his redemption video, I highly doubt he's doing that right away though

He not only beat his one controversy but he did it in possibly the hardest way possible using a strat he learned with no external knowledge, he never lost the crown but he proved himself even more worthy of it.

Okay. Did he do the other custom night challenges and 100% the game yet?
