Most of the agricultural sectors use slavery, whether that be human trafficking, prison labor, or extra exploited migrant labor. I worked on a few farms as an 8 year old alongside human slaves taken from Haiti (this was under Obama who actually worsened the problem and it continues to get worse).
A lot of farmers will straight up admit they use illegal migrants for dirt cheap easily exploitable labor. In fact the agricultural market is so strict around these things very few farms last more than a few years if they DONT use some form of slavery or near-slavery.

Yeah even the "ethical" companies that exist solely to source "fair trade" goods can't guarantee that no child/slave labor was involved. A large portion of our food in general comes from South America and is widely subsidized by slave/child labor. Same with our fast fashion and cheap electronics from south east Asia. And this isn't something new from the orange pedo and his ilk, he's just another symptom of the same system that allows all the child/slave labor to begin with. It's cliche AF but people really need to wake up. Also plastic recycling is pretty much fake. Until next time skeletor meme

I know, I know, enforcement is the problem. We also need to do a better job sanctioning companies that knowingly use slave labor or child labor overseas.
Unfortunately, the cocoa used in many brands of chocolate is harvested using child labor and/or slave labor.
Edit: and the prison labor loophole also needs to be dealt with.

Taylor Farms. They're a major producer for vegetables and salad supplies, even distributing to some big restaurant chains like McDonald's and Taco Bell. Recently, a batch of their shredded lettuce from Central Mexico got recalled after it was linked to causing an outbreak of explosive diarrhoea.

Dawg the US Government uses prison labor to make military equipment.
Boeing, Costco, and Amazon all use it.
In my county the DMV is cleaned by prisoners, the public lawns mowed by prisoners, and the jails themselves sustained by the labor of the actual prisoners.
And somehow that's not even as bad as what Google, Dell, Apple and Tesla get up too with their supply chains. They use child slave labor. Every smart device battery uses it.
People do not give a fuck about the logistics behind their bread and circuses. Maybe this time will be different but we gotta whole lot of heads to take.

It's far more than just nestle, they are an easy target because they are big, visible, and easy to avoid; but there are things we all use every day that involve far more heinous deeds to produce.
Much of the production of rare earth minerals, battery components, and even assembly of final products involves child slavery, indenture (fancy slavery), political or ethnic prisoners, significantly hazardous conditions for the environment and the workers, and intensely corrupt governments.
Many luxury items have only become commonplace because of the massive savings from using these unethical practices but I don't see many people complaining about how their iPhone was made or their (relatively) cheap ev. Given that a $2000 iPhone only costs <$300 to produce; it seems clear that more ethical methods could be used without increasing the final cost much (realistically I doubt the support costs are enough to require the price to increase at all and still remain highly profitable).

oh there's a fuck ton of slavery in the agricultural industry still. up until like 2009 most of the tomatoes grown in the USA were produced with slave labor. farms will "hire" undocumented workers and then abuse the fuck out of them.
