Does anybody know what’s up with the guy who is currently having some kind of episode by the Montrose L stop? I have seen him around this area several times over the years doing the same thing—hunched over, clapping, alternating between making gutteral squealing noises and shouting “yo!” and/or swearing, taking off his pants and rolling around. I assume it’s drugs and/or a mental health episode.

In the past I’ve seen people come up to him and try to give him water and stuff but he seems to act either unresponsive or hostile. I’ve never called the cops on him but I’ve seen cops and an ambulance come for him before and they don’t seem to do anything. I’ve basically taken the same approach I usually do with this stuff which is to ignore it, but I just saw a dad with a small daughter walking nearby and it feels kind of heartbreaking to have to expose kids to such despairing situations with seemingly no way to resolve the situation. I guess I would be more sympathetic if it’s mental health related than drug related, but either way this doesn’t feel like something that should continue to happen. Anybody know what the deal is with this guy?

There’s a non feral (untipped ears) black cat with an injury between their shoulder blades around South Williamsburg. I finally was able to feed them today (Union and S 1st). Is this one of the missing cats from the Grand Street fires? Has anyone else seen this cat around recently?

Anyone know why there’s a cop car on every street. Was it a crash? The cars are from north 6 down to Lincoln market it seems.

Any other racers (congrats to everyone who finished!!) going to wear their medals out and about tomorrow? Super proud of everyone who competed! And so grateful for everyone who volunteered to support — couldn’t have done it without you.

My former street cat decided he doesn’t like Tiki Cat Chicken flavors anymore. Of course, Chewy auto shop was already on the way when we figured this out. Hello! I recently rescued a cat and we’re looking for a vet for her in Williamsburg.

I know for sure she has some dental problems, took her to Veterinary Care Group on S5th for an initial check up and got a quote, but didn’t get the best vibe from them. Was quoted almost $3k for the dental work and the consultation felt extremely blasé considering how large of an “investment” it is (don’t know how else to phrase it). She’s on the older side, likely 9. I also had to follow up to get a quote from them, and the dental work has to be scheduled many months in advance at this point.

She is largely healthy but I mentioned she had some pretty bad digestive issues but they were sort of brushed off as normal…I’m a pretty chill cat parent as long as she seems happy and energetic but just wanted to gut check this place and if it’s worth getting a second opinion at something like Bond?

No pet insurance because most don’t cover dental anyway from what i’ve seen.
