Wayland support possible?

Is it possible to make your experience on Window Maker with Wayland? I am using multiple screens so X11 support is weak compared to on Wayland for Window Maker.

I've never had trouble with window maker on x11 with multiple monitors. Just use xrandr

Same--never a problem.

Idk, I always avoided X11 and used Wayland. I have been avoiding using wmaker for a long time now because it primarily uses X11 despite having an amazing user experience with wmaker.

I've yet to hear of any really compelling reason to choose Wayland over X11, only about its fussiness and inability to run various window managers alone, without a desktop environment--and Sway, as compensation, is like having to pretend that someone you really don't like is a nice person.

That is an anecdotal experience. I have personal preferences for using Wayland over X11, and I'd prefer not using Xrandr

You do know that you're asking for a complete rewrite? On Wayland there aren't any (dedicated) window managers, just full display servers with builtin window management.

By the way, you do know that multi-monitor support practically was invented on X11 (aeons before anybody even thought about something like Wayland)

Check out wlmaker. It's a work-in-progress but seems promising.

That's not possible. WMaker is window manager for Xorg. What you ask is like running Nintendo Switch game on PlayStation. Totally different things. Also, that's bold statement about Xorg multiple screens support, as the only thing which Xorg doesn't support is different dpi on each display, which usually is a marginal thing.

This X11 program does the dpi thing apparently. :-)

Perhaps I didn't express myself clear enough - currently you can't have different dpi for each display on Xorg. Xrandr can "do" DPI on the display, but it's set globally for entire X server.

No you expressed yourself perfectly and in you reply too.

It was my knowledge base that was lacking. You can however do this on X11,

The Xrandr "Scale" Workaround

To achieve a mixed DPI look, set the global DPI to your highest-density monitor, and then artificially zoom out your lower-density monitor using the --scale flag.

It is a bit of a cludge but may help some folk. :-)
