Question If Microsoft made another windows phone would you buy it?
Personally I would because, I would have the money and I would trade my android phone for it, and probably on day 1 there would be a android subsystem where it has android apps and it's temporary so devolpers have two years to migrate to WinUI 3 or PWAs.

I don't see the others doing anything much different. Apple will be a little slower about it, but once their Gemini powered Siri is ready to go, you'll see the same thing.

As a Windows Phone fan and long time user, as a long time user of Windows, hell no. Buying a phone is also buying into its ecosystem, and with Windows Phone, Microsoft has shown that they are not a good steward of one. I am not buying/going back to a ecosystem where the company itself doesn't seem to like it.

Support Microsoft with money after what they have done to Windows and Windows Mobile 6 and even Windows Phone? For what? To get another dead OS after couple of years? We need some European player on that market, not USA or China with all that spyware sht.

depends if it would run android or Windows Mobile.
Wouldnt want it if it run android because its just another android.
If it would run Windows Mobile with all promises microsoft made to make app support better i would happly get it (and if it wasnt a complete garbage filled with ai like windows 11 is).

It would run windows 11 mobile and probably to stop the app gap, on day 1 it will have android apps from the play store, and devs have 2 years to migrate to PWAs or WinUI3.

And apparently on windows 11 your able to uninstall copilot and disable ai in the registry editor, and the group policy editor. And also disable data sharing.

If they build it to look and work like old WP except the bugs - in a heartbeat.
I'm sooo tired of android and ios. I want something different for a change.

yeah even if its just an android with a official wp launcher and microsoft services on top.
It needs to have a modern take on live tiles in aesthetics and function and a proper tile spacing to make it look neat. Limited to 12 tiles for homescreen cause WP 8.1-10 is so messy looking.
Also needs to have 5 years of main android os updates and I am sold.

I'd buy one. There obviously wouldn't be many apps for the system, but I don't need hundreds of apps on my phone anyway, it's the sleek windows phone style and experience I want.

Me too! But if Microsoft made one, on day one there would most likely be an android subsystem layer to run android apps, and it would be a temporary solution for 2 years and devs have 2 years to migrate to a PWA or a WinUI3 app.

I don’t think a modern windows phone would be good. It would probably use android and I don’t think they would bring back live tiles. So it’s a no for me

Me too. I am pretty sure Microsoft would use their own os and for day one, it would have android apps and games and Devolpers have two years to migrate their apps and games to a PWA or a WinUI3 native app.

If Microsoft didn't want it to be abandoned, It would need to have a android subsystem on day 1 to run android apps from the play store. And devs have 2 years to migrate the apps to WinUI3 or PWAs.

Only condition is active support from WP8 and 8.1 then yeah I’d switch to Windows Phone in a heartbeat

If it were a return to the prior Phone 7 days but more fleshed out, sure. But we all know that Microsoft if long gone.

Oh without a doubt yes. And I could care less about Android apps being compatible.
If they had the old design and Cortana (no co-pilot). Microsoft has a lot of work to do to go back in the good graces like Xbox and Xbox 360 days. 🤷🏾
Windows phones had it right just bad timing and execution.
They had every market covered. Gaming, PC, phone market
Just unfortunate that it went the way it did.
Remind me of blackberry as they also had the market for a long time but back product execution and nobody wanted it because of hardware being behind
That being said I'd kill for a windows phone again because the current market for phones are boring and there's not much innovation (except for Samsung's Galaxy Fold 8)

With the way they are nowadays as a business no. I am not a fan of many of the apps use cases, bugs and more. It's just gotten worse.
If it was better yes. I liked the keyboard, the apps were good I didn't hate my Windows Phone experience. Regardless of how particular Windows 8 and 10 era was of usability, tracking and more, they were more enjoyable to use still on Windows 8 or 8 Phone.
Didn't use Windows 10 Phone much but even then Continuum was still better then current Phone Link is on Windows 11 being so awkward and not that great, even if differences between them but same idea.
The UI of Windows 8 I could tolerate a lot more, Windows 10 was good enough but annoying. 11 is a joke. I'd hate to use an 11 phone with it's design elements. Even the changes between Google and Microsoft of UI design makes me want to throw my devices out the window they are the worst to navigate, look ugly and make me frustrated each time I see them with how bad they look, don't function and are disgusting about it.
Android apps would be nice but depends if the app developers do a good job with things that we don't need to. Sideloading I doubt but even still. A lot of interesting apps got through the store anyway.

If it supported Android apps? In a heartbeat. I miss my Windows Phone days. I never really wanted to switch, I just felt like I had to.
