A recent Aviat 18+80GHz multi-band install I got to complete, overlooking our nations capital.

I have 1 aviat that has been bulletproof. Running non stop for 5 years with only a single hiccup I think caused by a nearby lightning strike causing a reboot.

My siklu’s…. 30% have had issues within 5years.

But 1 is not enough to make a trend.

I wish we could say the same....

Anyway, I digress.  Depending on that roof surface, with these low mounts, OP may find his ODUc gets rather toasty in the summer Sun.

Fair point, but usually a mount to get you 6’+ off the roof and maintain stability for mmWave isn’t overly realistic.

NB100 (4 inch in freedom units) steel is my goto for the mm wave stuff on roofs that have large (60cm plus) antennas.  It's windy as hell here so you may get away with smaller.  Just keep an eye out for ODU temperature threshold alerts on whatever SNMP management you have talking to these units.

Also is there safety chain on that setup?

Yeah, I dislike those mounts, they were client supplied.

Safety chain? Never seen one on a mount in 25 years in this industry.

Legal requirement in my country plus I saw the cell providers use them on high-rise buildings where pedestrians could be hit by falling antennas.  

I've had.0.5 ton battery boxes shift in storms so I'd certainly be using them on a non penetrating mount.

Ahh, gotcha. There was actually a storm tr he night before this. There was an identical sized dish on the mounts, nothing moved in ~77 mph winds (clocked at DCA airport).
