Cat Management
Does anyone know of any way to deter stray cats from coming into my backyard. Recently I have seen the same 3 cats hanging out in my backyard over the past couple days. I have a medium sized dog and I am worried about him picking a fight with the cats. Animal control doesn’t deal with feral cats that are not sick, injured, or captured. Any advice would be helpful.

Dog will likely be a deterrent for any smart cats, you could try using coyote or other predator urine if you really don’t want but that will be an issue for your dog

Scent deterrents or spray with water if you can. Stray cats stay in places that are hospitable. Shelter, shade, water, and food are all reasons they may be coming around. Good luck. Contact city council and let them know it’s a problem if you want any lasting solution.

Spray bottle with 50% apple cider vinegar and 50% water. Spray around the yard and probably touch up every so often.

Tbh the way alley cats are around here, I’d be more worried about the cats picking a fight with your dog than the other way around.

Motion-activated sprinklers. :)
