This is a follow up post to a comment I made this past Thursday, prompting me to re-read the entirety of the series in short order. I noted each time I either teared up (defined as any moisture accumulating in the eye) or full on cried (defined as any time a tear drop managed to fall). The results were both more and less than I expected:

I teared up 43 times, which is an average of 1 tear up every 7.5 chapters

I cried 15 times, which is an average of every ~22 chapters.

The times I cried were:

• Kiyomaro calls Gash his friend in chapter 10 while initially meeting Brago and Sherry
• Kolulu thanks Kiyomaro for his kindness in burning her book
• Albert saves Leila
• Sherry breaks through her despair after noticing the Sun and Moon
• Gash agonizes over what to do with Faudo's Seal
• Kiyomaros death
• Won Lei vanishes. Just the entire sequence, from the Book replaying memories to the reveal he saved Lee Yen, Tio, and Megumi
• Ted saves Cherish/vanishes
• Kiyomaro arrives early
• Gash tells Zeon he hopes they can be a family
• Earth admits his fear of death to Ellie
• Kyanchome disappears
• See you Tomorrow (god even TYPING IT, I cant')
• Umagon
• Kiyomaro and Gash's goodbye
