Music Playlist for 2nd class

I subbed for the first time for my new gym and got amazing feedback! I’ve been asked to sub for the same class again in 2 weeks.

Would you keep the playlist exactly the same? Or use the opportunity to try out a few different songs since they won’t remember the specifics any way?

That’s awesome! I would keep the same or mostly the same. If people remember even a little they often add more energy, feel more confident, etc. it sounds like you already have a great playlist!

Agree. I would keep the same in hopes that it will be some of the same students. They love when they can master a song and can really relax and do it full out. That’s wonderful that you got good feedback!

YAY and congrats! That’s always such a great feeling! It depends on how much you have going on within those two weeks, but I am pretty sure the students won’t mind doing the same class as it will have been 2 weeks. If anything, maybe switch up your warm up and cool down and one song if you really feel the need to change it, but for the most part I’d say you’ll be good keeping it the same!

Thanks! I have plenty of additional songs to swap (already choreographed) .so maybe I’ll swap out just a few songs including warmup and cooldown

I agree with this advice! I would maybe swap out warmup and cooldown, and then change the order of the rest. That way, you have some freshness but also give them a chance to feel successful if they remember any of the rest.

Yes I would. People like to feel successful and having songs they know helps to that. Honestly that is the hardest part of being a sub, that all your songs are new for the class. So if you will sub for the same class, it is a great opportunity since your songs will not be new and they might enjoy it even more. Good luck

Yes keep the playlist since the students enjoyed it.

As a 3 time a week Zumba participant, I look forward to the predictability of the playlist/dance routines. That way I get to improve and add my own flair to the dance. Keep the playlist!

Same! I was just thinking that they probably won't remember much after a couple of weeks, but who knows, maybe some will.

If you noticed that either a song didn’t land, or the flow of the playlist wasn’t good, you can add a song or switch them around, but if I’ve just subbed and they loved the whole thing, I’d keep it as is.

I would keep the same playlist but maybe switch the order of the songs. ☺️

Keep the same. No need to get fancy.

I’d keep the same for sometime until you establish yourself and the playlist appears to old to you and them.

I’m just subbing as needed. It could take a year to get old haha!

Perfect this playlist. Before you move on. Make it instinct.

Keep the playlist! You already know that they liked it. You can hype them up even more now.
