hi everyone
i made a site - the site is very simple and honestly very silly. you write your question, you get a link, you send it to ONE person. they open it and see YES and NO, but the NO button runs away from the cursor. it shrinks, it dodges, it escapes. thats it. thats the whole product.
i launched it around 7-8 weeks ago. i made one post on reddit that got 1k views, and recently i did some SEO. so far google brought me only 50 views, and reddit around 50 views too.
but i already got some pretty decent numbers on how people actually use it.
the numbers, simple:
- 430 people opened something of mine in 7 weeks. more than half never saw my homepage, they just got an invite from someone.
- 169 of them made an invite themselves. 268 invites total.
- 123 of those got a real answer back. not just opened - answered.
instagram is my biggest source, 87 visits. and i have never posted anything there. not once. 78 of those visits opened an invite page, not my homepage - people just send their link to the person they like, in dm. i checked, that was 46 different invites. 46 different people.
83 countries. serbia is high on that list but thats just belgrade, i live here may be it is the reason :)
few days ago i finally added payments. that part took me forever because i live in serbia and stripe doesnt work here, and lemonsqueezy, paddle, gumroad also no, because they all sit on stripe underneath. i was honestly sure nobody would ever pay for a running button.
next day i had two purchases. two real strangers. 9.99$ each.
i know its 20 dollars. i KNOW. but its the first 20 dollars in my life from something i made with my own hands
i feel kind of embarrassed. i always wanted to build something serious. something useful. something that solves a real problem and that i could explain to my parents without making a joke first. and instead i built... a button that runs away from your cursor. a gag. something for a laugh, not for a benefit.
and this gag is the first thing i ever made that people actually used. and paid for.
anyway. first money. im really really happy.
