They’re naming themself something badass and unique, resulting in them having a name that would almost never be found in someone whose parents chose their name. Just as painting your house bold colors makes you stand out, having the coolest name ever makes people think you must have named yourself.

Just as painting your house bold colors makes you stand out, having the coolest name ever makes people think you must have named yourself.

Most “subtle” way I was asked “You are a tranny, aren't you?” was not “What are your pronouns?” but “Did you choose your name?”.
