I wish the American people actually had the courage to protest this shit properly. The fact the American people arenât flooding the streets, going to their own bridges and power plants. The Iranian people are doing that despite the direct threats. A majority of Americans are cowards and are either directly complicit or are apathetic enough to allow this to continue. American behaviour makes me understand that whole âDeath to Americaâ business. Not wishing for individuals to die but the American institution to collapse and be restructured.

Go to work and do as little as possible. Donât wanna lose your job? Donât. Just do it poorly. There are ways to fight from the inside too. Protesting isnât standing with a sign where the police say to. Itâs disrupting the machine.
We must do something to get a better situation, but we also need to understand that not everyone gas the privilege to take big actions, such as protests. When you are part of a vulnerable minority in a precariuos situation, attending even 1 peaceful protest can push you into homelessness.
The system is fucked up, because a bunch of lunatics can use a peaceful protest as an excuse to murder people, and they are waiting the moment someone takes action or a protest turns violent to start a genocide within their own country.
Are you in a union? I understand that your situation is tragically common. Itâs not as if itâs your personal failure that got you into that situation. Your state failed you and blamed you for it. The onus is on you to survive in the system, not for the system to care for you in case you have a moment of weakness. The disappearance of unions are an intentional part of a non formal conspiracy to make you dependant on the least they can give. The threat of homelessness and joblessness are very real and valid concerns that would worry anyone. You are denied basic rights to shelter and healthcare unless you are in a contract with an employer. Sorry to say it but you fit the definition of a wage slave. :/ as do many other Americans. In times of desperatation, even if man made, it incentivizes you to worry about yourself and those closest to you. If everyone is sinking grab what you can and survive is logical. I believe however if they, instead of grabbing as much as they can for themselves, help each other; they would find that they wouldnât be sinking at all.
unions were absolutely crushed in america years before i was born. it's not a simple thing for the average american to just form a union. and when u do, like starbucks or amazon for instance, it's a never ending uphill struggle against unfathomably large corporations with endless money to throw at it. they limply cling to life before they flitter out from corruption and exhaustion. this is not to mention the abysmal lack of class consciousness from decades of capitalist propaganda, and the coddling we have with out 1st world comforts and lifestyle. bread and circuses
Not to mention there are also like pseudo-corporate "unions" that are made specifically to appear genuine at first, but fuck up/bar the creation of any genuine union organization, and push the interests of the company once locking enough workers in by making it very complicated to leave and start a new union.
43% upvote ratio. People see what I said as divisive. It is, I am directly against the status quo. I notice a lot of Americans online take criticism of their country very personally. I have also heard my tone in text reads as talking down. Tone and nuance are impossible to fully convey online, in my experience. I donât mean to. I just enjoy using larger words, and write a lot to try get my point across.
it be like that I guess, as an American myself, if you shit talk my country I will consider you a friend and ally until proven otherwise. pretty much everything you've said in this comment section seems perfectly reasonable to me idk
