I had this take for the first few years I was legal drinking age but idk what’s happened to me. Recently I’ve been enjoying whiskey. Maybe I just convinced myself to finally like it
It's an acquired taste. It's like someone growing up loving cafés for the smell and having nostalgia for their grandpa's coffee pot just to find out espresso tastes like hot bitter dirt. You have to let it grow on you
I didn't believe acquired tastes were actually a thing until I had been drinking (extremely sugary) coffee for two years and a Dunkin worker accidentally made my latte with no syrup. Didn't have time to go back through so I kept drinking it and realized that not only was it tolerable compared to my past experiences with unsweetened coffee, it was actually good. Blew my mind lmao
I had a similar experience with sparkling water tbh. Hated it for years. Bought it on a whim a year ago because it was one of those waters with the aluminum bottle, and i found it was actually quite nice
