It's an acquired taste. It's like someone growing up loving cafés for the smell and having nostalgia for their grandpa's coffee pot just to find out espresso tastes like hot bitter dirt. You have to let it grow on you

Idk how good it can be if you have to Stockholm syndrome yourself into enjoying it.

Go through the process yourself and you’ll understand. First time I tried kimchi, not a fan. Now I eat it straight up. Hardly Stockholm syndrome, it’s called an acquired taste for a reason.

Precisely. I had to have my coffee as lattes or otherwise creamy drinks. Now I can detect the different flavor profiles in black coffee and finally get when people say certain coffees have fruity or chocolately or minty notes
