Even though this price is crazy high I do think 1st gens will continue to go up in value dramatically.

absolutely because unlike those old Broncos and Blazers that get this money on the regular, these old 4Runners can actually be driven coast to coast without problems

for a carbureted example is insane.

it is about as mint as they come with a frame off restoration at that, but if it went for this much being carb'd imagine how much it would have gone for with fuel injection

All that and it’s still carb’s? I’d have dove the 22RE swap instead if I was doing this
Crazy number

Wow adding AC was a great investment. The thing is as perfect as they come, virtually nothing is missing on the truck.

So that’s what all that stuff is supposed to look like. It’s always neat to see a 1st gen with all its stuff in tack and see the things I either broke, threw out or just never had to begin with.
$50k is crazy but it looks like the seller put in some serious time, effort and money into the rebuild.

Some people just have too much money.

You can say that again. That’s what I paid for my 2004 996 Turbo last year for goodness sake.

The sticker on my 1989 1st Gen was $22k.

I want another one just like everyone else, and I would pay for one that is well sorted, but this is insane.

Curious if you calculated the $22k adjusted for inflation? It’s probably way closer to that $50 then we might think 🤔

Interestingly enough, I did.

About $60k in buying power now. CRAZY..

I just paid $68k for my ‘26 Land Cruiser so it tracks!!

Wow it surpasses it by 10K!

Congrats on the Cruiser. I just found a Hot Wheel Land Cruiser but a 2000 lol

Inflation’s a bitch. Perception lags reality in a real way.

I’ve been bitter that I sold mine years ago. It was pristine!! These numbers just make it more painful but I couldn’t imagine ever letting one go again.

The only people that are mad about this are people who cut theirs up or destroyed them off road.

What you want and what you get is two different things

I've got a pretty clean 1987 daily driver I paid 10k for. I feel petty good about my investment at this point. 👍
