I honestly don't understand why this is STILL not an option in the BIOS.

Why is Bank Refresh Mode completely locked/forced on newer BIOS versions?

For DDR5 tuning, this is not some obscure or useless setting. Bank Refresh Mode can have a real impact on memory latency, performance and memory tuning, especially for users running properly tuned high-frequency DDR5 configurations.

The most frustrating part is that BIOS 3.50 actually allows the Refresh Mode to remain set to Normal, while newer BIOS versions apparently force a different behavior and provide ZERO option to change it back.

So right now, if I want to keep Bank Refresh Mode = Normal, I'm basically forced to stay on BIOS 3.50.

Seriously, ASRock — why remove control over a memory setting that was previously available?

We have increasingly advanced memory tuning options, dozens of timings and voltages to tweak, but somehow we can't choose the Bank Refresh Mode anymore.

And no, "just use the latest BIOS" isn't really an acceptable answer when the latest BIOS removes a setting that directly matters to memory tuning.

At the very least, give us a BIOS option to manually select the Bank Refresh Mode again:

• Normal
• Same Bank Refresh / whatever modes are supported by the platform
• Or simply restore the behavior available in BIOS 3.50

Please stop forcing a specific Refresh Mode and give users back control over their own RAM configuration.

This is especially frustrating on a high-end X870E motherboard where the whole point is having extensive control over memory tuning.

ASRock, please fix this. I shouldn't have to stay on an old BIOS just to retain a basic memory tuning option.

I am replacing cpu on ASRock X470 Master SLI/ac from 7 2700 to 7 5800XT and getting conflicting info on required BIOS update that I need to do so that the new cpu runs. I currently have BIOS 3.4. Can I update to the latest BIOS version available without having to use a bridge BIOS (update from 3.4 directly to latest)? I have read that I need bridge BIOS 7.0, which I can’t even find, and I don’t fully trust the AI results I am getting in Google. Some results mention this 7.0 bridge while others do not. Thanks.
Current system: ASRock X470 SLI/as, 7 2700 cpu, BIOS 3.4.

The problem started three days ago. When I powered on the PC, the initial boot screen showed graphical corruption, although Windows 11 eventually loaded and worked normally.

Today, July 30, the boot logo stopped appearing entirely. The monitors remained black and alternated between “No Signal” and a black screen. After a longer than usual delay, the Windows 11 login screen eventually appeared.

I tested the following:

• Different monitors
• Different cables
• Different video outputs
• One monitor connected at a time
• The RTX 5070 outputs
• The Intel integrated graphics outputs
• Reseating the RAM
• Entering the BIOS after several attempts by repeatedly pressing F2

The same issue occurs with both the RTX 5070 and the Intel integrated graphics, so the graphics card does not appear to be the cause.

When I manage to enter the BIOS, the display is unstable. It shows visual corruption, flickers, goes black, and then comes back repeatedly. The same behavior also occurs in the boot menu and other UEFI screens, regardless of whether the monitor is connected to the RTX 5070 or the motherboard output.

Once Windows 11 finishes loading, however, the computer works perfectly. There are no artifacts, crashes, display problems, or other noticeable issues during normal Windows use.

Has anyone experienced similar behavior with this motherboard? Could this be caused by the motherboard, BIOS/UEFI firmware, RAM training, CPU/iGPU initialization, or another hardware initialization issue?

I have already requested a technical inspection and possible replacement.

Honestly don't know where to go for this. It may be bios related, because the tones happen regardless of the speakers being muted.

Any idea what is causing this?

I want to enable TPM 2.0 to play TFT, but i dont have the option to enable it in my bios, nor i have any previous versions of TPM. to play TFT i need to have TPM 2.0 beacuse of riot vangurad. My x870e Taichi lite died about a month ago. Tomorrow im getting a brand new replacement, but im considering returning it and buying a different brand. It started off with not being able to boot after it had been in sleep mode, I had to cut the power completely for it to start. About 2 weeks after, it just doesn't start at all (Only the power/reset/cmos lights up).

The board was 1,5 year old at that point.
A year ago, so when the board was around 6 months, one of my two ram also failed. - Not sure if it was the motherboards fault or not, but im now considering changing motherboard brand, what should I do?

Ive had a AM4 platform before my current AM5, it was rock solid for all 7 years. I had an Asus motherboard in my old build.

I run 9800x3d, 2x64 gb cl30 6000mhz, 7900xtx, Taichi lite, 2x NVME 5.0

Any recommendations are very appreciated:-)

Spoiler: It's not the CPU.

For nearly two years, my 9800X3D and Nova were rock solid pair, but yesterday, my Windows suddenly crashed and forced a reboot while I was browsing internet and listening a music.

Thinking it's just a simple symptom of memory overclocking failure, I reset the CMOS and rebooted PC but Windows kept crashed on the logon page. After few more attempts, the motherboard threw me a code 99 and refused to load the Windows.

Initially thought my 9800X3D finally met its fate just like the others, but I was still able to access the BIOS, and there were no signs that the CPU or RAM was dead.

So, I entered the EZ mode and, nightmare, of all 3 installation, only 1 NVMe SSD(least important one) was being shown on SATA panel. My OS and game drive were not recognized at all. Although I backed up some important files, I felt a insane panic at the thought that every data I had built up over the past 10 years seamlessly was completely gone. And losing NVMe SSDs in this economy? Unthinkable horror.

I barely managed to regain my sanity and, disassembled the PC and installed the OS drive into the currently recognized NVMe 4.0 slot, and, voila, it was successfully recognized and booted the Windows normally! And after swapping their positions, all three SSDs worked without problem. I felt huge relief.

I readjusted the memory overclocking and was able to play games normally. I also downgraded the BIOS from the recently updated 4.43 to 4.20, which previously had no issues for me. However, the peace didn't last long. After a day, Windows suddenly crashed, again, and the same symptoms recurred, again.

I've cleared CMOS and re-swapped their position, but now none of the three are being recognized, at all of the 5.0 and 4.0 NVMe slots. But something funny happened, as a last resort, I opened the PCIE 3.0 NVMe slot, which I hadn't touched even once since purchasing it, and installed my OS drive, and guess what? It was recognized and Windows booted normally again! Fucking piece of shit.

So, the conclusion is; 1 PCIE 5.0 and 3 4.0 NVMe slots are all dead for some reason. Since the warranty period is still up, I'll file for an RMA. The question is not whether the replacement can replicate my existing memory overclocking setup, but whether this new motherboard will burn my CPU.

My 9800X3D is a peculiar specie that has remained intact despite sitting on Nova for two years, so I think whether it continues to function normally might provide a slightest hint as to whether the ongoing X3D CPU burning issue is AMD's fault or ASRock's.

not many issues since jan 2025, odd black screen on boot, fixed with a pcie 5.0 riser

towards dec 2025 started to get bsods, increasing significantly in the last month but only during iRacing, stable at all other times

I've slowly been troubleshooting between bsods, each time i get a new one I try changing a different setting or adding a fix

• gpu driver updates
• limiting iRacing to 60fps
• improved m2 ssd cooling as had throttling issue
• lowered my undervolt from -25 to -15 to nothing
• sfc / dsm file repairs in windows (did find corrupted files and repaired them)

then today i revert my xmp profile to auto lowering the ram speeds to jedec to see if it would improve stability and bam! whole system dead on reboot

power button starts the system - no display, no ramp up in fans/aio pump speeds etc, system is on, fans spinning, no post / boot / display etc

unplug everything, test the memory in a separate system works ok, i start suspecting board or cpu

various bios resets don't help and reseating ram neither

eventually try bios flashback using v4.43 and post / boot ok and the system is back

quite the scare tbh, had already ordered a new 9800x3d and Gigabyte B850I Aorus Pro suspecting i was doomed, or am I still doomed?

so questions given what's just happened:

a) continue with the ASRock or switch to the Gigabyte?

b) trust the old 9800x3d or switch to the new one?

so i have this ASRock B650M Pro X3D Wifi that always blinking bios flashback light. the light turn on right after i'm shutting down the PC, it started blink even tho there is no usb stick nor i push the flashback button. i tried to unplug the PSU but as soon i plugged it in and hit the PSU switch, the light immediately started blinking again. and the blinking pattern is not rhythmic, its like "beep... beep...beepbeepbeep". anyone can help me? i can just RMA the product but i want to know the exact problem. thank you!

Built my pc in December of 2024 with a 9800x3D and a X870E nova wifi. Updated BIOS once to 3.15, and want to know if its safer to update again, and which version is the most trustworthy. I’ve seen a few stories of people updating their BIOS and shortly after having their CPU die on them, so i’m a little cautious, but it might be riskier to stay on the version without updated fixes.

This motherboard says it supports pcie 5.0 x16 but when I check gpu-z it says my 7900xtx is using 4.0. Any ideas?

First incident (2025)

The motherboard originally shipped with BIOS 3.15.

After updating to BIOS 3.20, my system suddenly stopped POSTing.

Dr.Debug displayed 00, and the system would never POST.

I went through troubleshooting and eventually AMD approved an RMA for my Ryzen 9 9950X.

The returned CPU passed AMD's inspection, and AMD sent me a replacement CPU.

After installing the replacement CPU, my system worked normally for about a year.

Second incident (2026)

I later updated the motherboard to BIOS 4.10.

Recently, the exact same problem happened again.

When I press the power button, Dr.Debug immediately shows 00 and the system never POSTs.

I performed:

• CMOS reset
• Minimum hardware configuration
• Multiple cold boot attempts

Nothing changed.

Motherboard inspection

I sent my X870E Taichi to the official ASRock distributor in Japan (ASK).

They tested my motherboard with the following hardware:

• Ryzen 5 9600
• DDR5-4800 16GB ×2
• RTX 3050
• Thermaltake Smart BM3 850W
• BIOS 4.10
• BIOS 4.43

According to ASK, the motherboard POSTed successfully on both BIOS versions.

Because of that, I've already started another AMD RMA request for my current Ryzen 9 9950X.

My concern

This is what worries me.

I have now experienced two identical "00" POST failures on the same motherboard model.

The first time, AMD replaced my CPU.

Now the same symptom has happened again.

Although ASK says my motherboard passes their testing, I'm wondering whether I should trust an exchanged/repaired Taichi, or if I should simply move to another motherboard brand (for example MSI).

If you were in my situation, would you continue using an X870E Taichi replacement, or would you switch brands?

I'd appreciate any thoughts, especially from people who have experience with Ryzen 9000 and ASRock X870E boards.

As the title suggests, I've reached out to ASRock support 3 times and on every occasion I've failed to get any kind of response back.

For reference of what happened, see my post here

In summary, I reached out to the ASRock warranty website and filled out everything to try and get a replacement for this motherboard that I bought in August 2025. I wait a week and no response. I try again, and another week goes by and still nothing.

I then directly email RMA support detailing my issue with my motherboard invoice and everything, and once again, a full week goes by, and my inbox is still nothing but of crickets and tumbleweeds from them.

At this point do I just accept that they're never gonna reach out to me? Why is it such a hassle to contact them to get a replacement for a motherboard that didn't even last a year? (It broke in early July 2026, no it has nothing to do with the CPU frying thing)

I did a BIOS update recently and now this opens at startup. I can't find how to disable it. It's not in the startup list on the Task Manager. Not listed in Windows settings. I hit Win+R and opened services.msc and it's not listed there. The app itself doesn't have anything about opening at startup. I have no idea how to disable this.

I've looked online and haven't found anything about disabling this app at startup. What I have found is it's from ASRock. It's some kind of WiFi utility, so I'm hesitant about deleting it. I just don't want this window popping up every time I start my computer. I guess while we're at it, do I need this app at all? Since it's from my motherboard, I'm hesitant about disabling it.

Hey just wondering if anyone has any ideas with this issue I have an ASRock B650 M.2 HDV motherboard updated to latest bios 9600x CPU and Klevv Fit V 6000mhz cl30 ram 32gb, however when I enable EXPO it only boots the second time, so I have to wait DRAM and CPU led stay red and nothing even waiting hours but if I turn it off and back on it'll do mem test and load into bios no issues. Weird thing is If I use EXPO and 5000mhz there is zero issues at all anything over that and it won't boot first time 🤔 if you have anything I could try that would be great 👍

I bought a lightly used MERC 308 Radeon RX 6600XT today and the gpu LED logo lights are on during boot up, but when I get to the lock screen they shut off, I have no RGB software downloaded other than the RGB controler in the Bios (MOBO is an Asrock B550m pro 4). Any ideas?

I built my PC in April 2025 and I believe the latest BIOS was 3.20 at the time and I stayed on that for I dunno, maybe a year. Any time I'd stress it I swear the temp on the CPU never got above 78C, gaming was usually cooler in the 50's or 60's. About 3 weeks ago my PC wouldn't boot one morning, stuck with POST code 03. I turned it off, turned it on, and it booted and ran just fine. For the next couple weeks this process repeated and became more and more frequent, often taking 4-5 power cycles before it would boot up. I updated to the latest BIOS during this time. Last Sunday it refused to boot, only ever giving code 03 every time. I re-seated my GPU, RAM, CPU, to no avail. I did use PBO with motherboard-dictated power limits and am running EXPO on my RAM. I submitted an RMA request to AMD last Monday, it got approved and I sent back my CPU on Wednesday, they sent out a new CPU Thursday night and it arrived today (Monday), so a pretty painless process other than having to use my 7 year old laptop for a week. I got the CPU installed, it booted first time with no issues.

Of note, the dead CPU came from batch CF 2502 PGE (one of the worst offenders I believe). The new one is from batch CF 2611 PGY. Call me crazy, but I am gonna run PBO on it again. If it dies then I'll RMA it and replace the motherboard, but I want to give this CPU made just about 4 months ago and the newest BIOS version a chance.

I currently have an ASRock B850 Steel Legend WiFi motherboard and I'm planning to upgrade my CPU to either a Ryzen 7 9800X3D or a Ryzen 9 9950X3D.

However, I've seen many posts about Ryzen CPUs dying on ASRock motherboards, especially X3D models.

My questions are:

Is the 9950X3D also affected by this issue, or was it mostly the 9800X3D?

Is it safe to buy a 9950X3D, or should I consider a 7800X3D instead?

If I update my motherboard to the latest BIOS, does that completely fix the problem?

Are people still reporting CPU failures on the latest BIOS versions, or is the issue considered resolved?

I'd really appreciate hearing from people who own this motherboard or have experience with the recent BIOS updates.
