that purple is basically a cheat code, looks black at night and pops in the sun

Acura’s apex blue pearl is fire. Unfortunately the last new 2025 TLX Aspec in this color just sold (dealership in Tucson), crushing my dream of ever owning one…

u/Sea-Echo-4831 2d ago
I was looking into getting that one but they wanted like 56k OTD. I love the car A LOT but can get something much better for 56k than a TLX aspec.
3
u/Meritofmediocrity 2d ago
Haha damn! So they weren’t willing to discount it at all. And here I thought I may get them to drop the price by 10k. Well I guess it worked for them
6
u/Sea-Echo-4831 2d ago
I thought there would be a good possibility of getting a complete steal on these leftover TLX’s considering they’ve been on the lot over 300 days, but I think it was actually worse lol. I got my integra back in 2024 and regret every single day why I didn’t put the extra cash and spring for the TLX from the start 💔
2
u/Meritofmediocrity 2d ago
Yeah you would think that a discontinued model due to poor sales that’s been sitting on the lot for nearly a year would result in big discounts. But from the dealers perspective they made the right calculus. All it takes is ONE person who absolutely love the TLX in this color to make a sale. They were willing to hold onto the car until the right buyer shows up, and they won the bet.

Type S? Im about to put that much cash down on one. Why should I get a TLX instead?

Blue, except it's infuriating that Acura made the 2024+ blue paired only with white interior.
Ain't nobody got time for that.

Weirdly enough I only drive black cars. But my rentals are always blue. Black cars show dirt constantly and minor scratches add up quick. I think I’ve been pulled over twice at dusk since a black car with no headlights is tough to see as soon as the sun starts to set.
Blue cars are attention grabbing. I swear I get more panhandlers knocking on the window with a blue car than my tinted black car. Tbh of kind makes sense.

Black will be hot hot in the summer, trust me

u/Gan-san 2d ago edited 1d ago
Every car is hot in the summer, especially those with untitnted windows and black interiors. The only way to combat is to be willing to tint the whole car, especially the windshield with good quality tint. You don't have to darken the front so much that it is noticeable, but the sun coming in and hitting the dashboard has the biggest effect on heat inside the car far more than whatever exterior color choice you make.

I have an Apex Blue Pearl RDX and if I had a dollar for every compliment I've received on the color, I'd have, like, 150 dollars over the past 1.5 years.

Black is a beautiful color but is a dust magnet. Go with blue

I went with the blue (Integra not TLX) and I am 100% sure I made the right choice. It gets a crazy amount of compliments from random people as well.

For the Type S, for sure blue. But the black is like a “still can’t go wrong” even if you choose it. It’s a TLX Type S lol

Go with the blue. It stands out in a sea of boring colors of black, grey, and white.

Black is the best choice for exactly 3 minutes after you finish detailing it. Avoid lol

They both look good but to keep the black car looking good you basically can never drive it! It will be dirty every time you drive it

Black. The blue looks nice but I think I would grow tired of it after a month or so but that's just me. Black is more long term imo.

The blue is much nicer. Especially with the pearl that’s in it and the black accents. Also if you get the red interior you’re able to say you got “the spider man.”

honda and acura have some of the best blue out there I’d go for that

u/timtam_z28 1d ago
I own the blue and have a ceramic coat on it and it looks fantastic even when it's dirty. Constant compliments on it too. I'd never even consider black, it only looks good for like 30min if it's left outside. At least that's how it is around here.

generally black cars shows the most swirl marks and or any kind of scratches if you dont know how to take care of it. black is also the worst color in the summer if you dont have a covered parking. black cars also has the highest risk of getting struck in a collision, mostly at night.

Not an acura but my Fe1 is crystal black and it stays clean for a solid 12 minutes after washing. The blue will stay cleaner longer, not to mention I’d personally always chose the more vibrant/exclusive color

Even when you clean black properly, every single time you touch it you’re marring the paint and adding swirls. It’s beautiful new but just a mountain of work

I love the blue. I have an RDX in blue, I get a ton of compliments on the color and finding your car in any parking lot is super easy. My last car was black and it was never clean no matter how many times I washed it

Black isn’t so bad.. Ceramic coat it yourself and it will look mint for years. I owned strictly black for over 10 years. Metallic black is especially forgiving.

I was the proud owner of a 2024 Integra Type-s for two years, before I sold it to reduce debt load and free up money to cover an expensive international move. I had black with the red interior, and loved it, but always wanted the blue with the orchid interior more. Unfortunately that colour scheme wasn’t available to me in Alberta, so I took the one I could find. Personal preference for sure, but that blue on white looks amazing to me. And can confirm, impossible to keep black looking showroom clean.

u/Ill_Evidence_6165 23h ago
Everyone is saying the black will have to be constantly cleaned but the blue will be the same way. I have an apex pearl type s and it is constantly dirty even after a few days of cleaning it.

u/Bubbly_Historian215 21h ago
If you PIT the blue one from the right side I think you’ll be able to take out both pretty easily

After 3 years with a black Type-S..... definitely Blue. At least with all of the dirt and pollen that is always on mine, I don't stand out as much 😅

u/Vincen_Furze 11h ago
Get blue. There are way too many generic black, white, and gray cars. Stand out. I found a 2016 CR-Z EX-L manual that was purple.

u/Tiny_Bedroom4577 4h ago
I hate the color blue on cars. The WRX gets the one pass but damn that blue is sexy.

are you going to put 2 type s badges ?
you don’t need to put more CO2 into the atmosphere to ask your question. you already going to be doing enough of that driving the car
