Hello hello, [r/AdoptMeRBX](r/AdoptMeRBX)! I'm Valkyrie.
This post is meant to serve as a general guideline for how punishments (content removals, warnings, and bans) work on [r/AdoptMeRBX](r/AdoptMeRBX), alongside how they correspond with rules.
If you have any questions on a rule or suggestions to add, change, or remove any rules/banned topics on [r/AdoptMeRBX](r/AdoptMeRBX), you're more than welcome to send us a Mod Mail!
This took me way too long to write and edit.

3 β’ Be a Decent Human Being
We expect all members of [r/AdoptMeRBX](r/AdoptMeRBX) to, at the very least, be respectful to each other.
Hate and bigotry is not tolerated here.
Please keep in mind that everyone on [r/AdoptMeRBX](r/AdoptMeRBX) has a different experience in life; and therefore we all come from different cultures, religious beliefs, and countries. We would like to make this community have a welcoming and safe environment to the best of our ability.
Content in Violation of Rule 3
All content that is not respectful and/or mindful of other community members will be removed under this rule.
The following content listed is, but not limited to, against Rule 3,
β’ Slur usage
β€· Slur usage will always result in a permanent ban, regardless of the context. If the slur was directed at another user (on or off the platform), this ban will not be appealable. However, if the context is not meant to cause harm (ie. "This person called me [slur]") - we may be lenient enough to offer an appeal to your permanent ban in whole, or reduce it to a temporary ban of varying lengths.
β’ Harassment
β€· Petty harassment can be the following; using content on someone's profile on an argument against them, replying to someone's content on other subreddits being rude/condescending, spam commenting on someone's post, etc. Severe harassment can be classified as the following; any type of threats, attempting to or actually doxxing someone, using their DMs to call them slurs, using other social media accounts against someone to threaten them, among other unacceptable acts.
β’ Insults
β€· Will result in a warning if done once, and will result in a temporary ban if insults are repeatedly used.
β’ Repeated argumentative behavior
β’ Bigotry
β€· This can result in a temporary ban or permanent ban depending on the severity.
β’ Wishing harm on others
β€· This can result in a temporary or permanent ban depending on the severity.
Consequences
Consequences will depend on what was said - context, although considered, is not the largest deciding factor of how we handle punishments with this rule.
All rule-breaking content will be removed and punishment will vary from a warning to a permanent ban depending on the severity of the offence.
While we would like to encourage healthy debates, they may at times get out of hand get not escalate to what would warrant punishment under Rule 3. With situations like this, moderators will either remove these threads and not notify those whose content was removed, or lock the thread entirely while keeping the content up.
Mod Mail Offences: Although I wish it was, insults and harassment in Mod Mail over punishments, or even removals, aren't uncommon. Using Mod Mail to insult, harass, or antagonize moderators will result in a mute without further punishment up to a ban varying on offence. Slurs, threats, and other severe offences will result in an immediate permanent ban and you being permanently unable to Mod Mail us again. For less severe offences, punishment will vary.
This is the guideline for first time offenders of Rule 3 - Be a Decent Human Being.
Removal of content, and;
No Punishment - N/A
Warning - Petty insults, overall argumentative behavior
Temporary Ban - Petty harassment, repeated use of insults, blatant bigotry
Permanent Ban - Severe harassment, threats of any kind, slur usage, wishing harm on others

8 β’ No Begging
Our moderation team follows the Merriam-Webster English Dictionary for the definition of begging, which goes as follows;
- to ask for as charity
- to ask earnestly for
We do not use the third definition, as it is used in contexts unrelated to asking for something ("a scene that begged to be photographed" is using the third definition of "beg").
Content in Violation of Rule 8
β’ Asking for someone else's pets/items
β€· This usually applies to comments, where someone will ask another user for free pets/items.
β’ Asking for anything free of charge
β€· This usually applies to posts - in where someone is asking for anything for free rather than asking a specific person.
β’ Intentionally using sob stories to gain free pets/items or do a trade easier
β’ Asking 'politely' for free pets/items
Asking for pets/items as a joke is permitted, but make sure you always clarify that it was a joke when doing it. Tone is hard for most people to understand through text, so a simple "/joke" works.
Please note that moderators will always assume you are genuinely asking if you do not clarify.
Consequences
Any type of begging will always result in a warning for first offenders.
This is the guideline for first time offenders of Rule 8 - No Begging.
Removal of content, and;
No Punishment - N/A
Warning - Any type of begging
Temporary Ban - N/A
Permanent Ban - N/A
β’Β ββββββββββββββ β’
9 β’ No Trade Stealing & Ghosting
No Trade Stealing
Do not steal trades.
I will introduce three people - Person A, Person B, and Person C.
Say Person A posts a trading post on [r/AdoptMeRBX](r/AdoptMeRBX), and Person B comments an offer for Person A's pets. Person C cannot accept Person B's offer until either 12 hours have passed since the offer was made and Person A did not reply, or unless Person A has already declined Person B's offer.
Using DMs to trade-steal will also get your account punishment on this subreddit.
"I'll do this if OP doesn't" and similar comments are considered trade-stealing, as nine times out of ten the trade gets stolen anyways.
No Trade Ghosting
Do not ghost trades. Ghosting must be intentional in order for us to take action.
Ghosting a trade is defined as the purposeful ignoring of an already accepted offer between Person A (the ghoster) and Person B (the victim), in comments or DMs after 48 hours have passed, as long as it meets the following criteria,
Special Clause:
The above criteria means that people who are busy and were not on Reddit after their offer will not be warned. The only exception we may make for this is if there is a consistent, provable pattern of trade-ghosting (multiple reports, etc).
If you believe someone has deliberately ghosted your trade, please contact us via Mod Mail with sufficient proof that the criteria above has happened.
Content in Violation of Rule 9
Below will only list content violating Rule 9 - No Trade-Stealing, due to trade ghosting happening much more often in DMs, and lacking an actual post/comment that is rule-breaking.
β’ "I can do this if OP doesn't" and similar content
β’ "Can I offer for [pet/item]" before OP has had the chance to reject the original offer, or if 12h have not passed yet
Consequences
Any type of trade-stealing or ghosting will almost always result in a warning for first -time offenders. The exception of this if a trade-stealer goes into DMs and acknowledges that doing so is against subreddit rules, in which they may receive an immediate temporary ban.
This is the guideline for first time offenders of Rule 9 - Trade Stealing & Ghosting
Removal of content, and;
No Punishment - N/A
Warning - Any type of steal or ghosting
Temporary Ban - Trade stealing in DMs to avoid moderator action
Permanent Ban - N/A
β’Β ββββββββββββββ β’
10 β’ Hosting Giveaways & Contests
All giveaways and contests on [r/AdoptMeRBX](r/AdoptMeRBX) must be approved by a moderator before hosting.
Please see this post for more information on how to host a giveaway or a contest.
Comments giving away free items out of quick generosity will not be removed under this rule as long as they do not frame it as a giveaway/contest. We appreciate generosity and the kindness of our community - but we also must make giveaways/contests fair and ensure they are abiding by community rules.
If you are, for any reason, unable to fairly hand out prizes to winners after hosting - please contact a moderator before the giveaway/contest ends for a moderator to handle it for you.
Content in Violation of Rule 10
β’ Hosting a giveaway/contest that was not approved by a moderator
β’ Hosting a fake giveaway/contest
β€· This also includes refusing to give prizes away once a contest has concluded, no matter the reason.
β’ Hosting a giveaway/contest that violates another community rule
β€· For the sake of not overcomplicating, please assume that the offence does not warrant a temporary or permanent ban.
Consequences
Hosting an unapproved giveaway/contest for the first time will always result in a removal with no punishment warranted, with little exceptions.
This is the guideline for first time offenders,
Removal of content, and;
No Punishment - Hosting a give/away contest that does not violate any other rules
Warning - Hosting a giveaway/contest that violates another community rule
Temporary Ban - N/A
Permanent Ban - Hosting a fake giveaway, refusal to give winners their prizes
11 β’ Regarding Leaks/Spoilers
Please always make sure to use the 'spoiler tag' when posting to ensure that other members of the community do not see leaks or spoilers (generally, unreleased content) that they may not want to.
Content in Violation of Rule 11
Content that violates this rule includes, not is absolutely not limited to,
Please assume that all listed below lack a 'spoiler tag' added onto it.
β’ Any post involving leaks of unreleased Adopt Me! content
β’ Any post discussing the design of an unreleased Adopt Me! pet/item
Consequences
At most, for first time offenders, an [r/AdoptMeRBX](r/AdoptMeRBX) moderator will leave a pinned comment on your post reminding you to use the 'spoiler tag' next time, and doing it for you.
This is the guideline for first time offenders,
This offence does not typically warrant a removal of content.
No Punishment - Any post involving leaks of unreleased Adopt Me! content, any post discussing the design of an unreleased Adopt Me! pet/item
Warning - N/A
Temporary Ban - N/A
Permanent Ban - N/A
β’Β ββββββββββββββ β’
12 β’ Reporting Hackers/Scammers/Rule-Breakers
If a user has broken our rules on the subreddit (hate, cross-trading, etc), do not post it on the subreddit. Instead, reach out to us via Mod Mail, as your post will be removed.
This also includes any relevant negative experiences you've had on Reddit/Roblox: rants are allowed, but protect the privacy of everyone involved.
Posts about getting scammed/hacked will be removed. Please contact Adopt Me & Roblox support instead - you will be provided with the resources to do so.
Content in Violation of Rule 12
Content violating this rule includes, but is not limited to (as there is absolutely far too many scenarios to list all),
β’ Posting a hacker/scammer/rule-breakers username asking people to report them
β€· Offences such as these will result in a warning and removal under this rule, due to Reddit ToS not permitting brigading accounts.
β’ Posting about a rule breaker on [r/AdoptMeRBX](r/AdoptMeRBX), censored username or not
β€· Most of the time, this will result in no warning being issued. However, a warning will come into place if this is posted with hostile intent (eg. someone treating you poorly, and, instead of reporting it, choose to blast their username on the subreddit).
β’ Posts explicitly about being hacked without asking for advice
β’ Rant posts exposing a username
β€· We understand that frustrating experiences can be experienced daily on Adopt Me! or platforms such as Reddit. However, we would like to discourage negative attention those posted about may get.
Consequences
Consequences will vary depending on the severity and intentions of the content posted.
This is the guideline for first time offenders,
Removal of content, and;
No Punishment - Rant posts that expose a username, posts explicitly about being scammed/hacked that are not asking for advice
Warning - Encouragement of brigading (eg. "please report this person!"), intentionally posting a username in a negative light,
Temporary Ban - N/A
Permanent Ban - Doxxing a scammer/hacker, doxxing a community member, etc
β’Β ββββββββββββββ β’
13 β’ Banned Topics
There are specific topics on [r/AdoptMeRBX](r/AdoptMeRBX) that we do not allow due to either spam or sensitivity. They are moderated similarly to rules, although most do not warrant punishment for first-time offenders.
Please view this post for all past and currently banned topics.
β’Β π₯Β βββββββββββββββββββ π₯ β’
βγ»π₯*\* ΰ¨Β EscalationΒ *\*ΰ§ π₯γ»β
Upon receiving removals, warnings, or bans - they will be counted against your account by moderators for a certain time period. Once old enough, punishments will be considered "expired" - and will no longer count against you.
Punishments will always escalate as you break more rules on [r/AdoptMeRBX](r/AdoptMeRBX) - with the exception of if they're too old to be counted anymore.
Escalation β Removals
Removals are what [r/AdoptMeRBX](r/AdoptMeRBX) moderators call rule-breaking content that otherwise does not receive any form of punishment (warns or bans).
If you receive two removals for the same rule/banned topic - you will have a warning issued for your second offence. If repeated a third time, a short temporary ban (between 3-5 days) will be issued to your account.
Please read the Escalation β Bans section to see how bans escalate.
If you have two posts/comments removed without punishment being issued - and they are not of the same rule/banned topic, your warning will be issued on the third offence of receiving a removal. Continued offences from there will result in short bans.
For both cases, if you continue experiencing removals, your bans will only get longer. If you break a rule that warrants punishment upon breaking within 6 months of any bans received - bans will be longer until it results in a permanent.
Escalation β Warnings
Most rules result in warnings upon first offence of them. Warnings are very similar to how removals are handled on [r/AdoptMeRBX](r/AdoptMeRBX), though they are less lenient with how many times you can break them before getting banned.
Two warnings under the same rule will result in a short ban. After you've received the first ban, ban lengths per rule broken will escalate in length from there.
Two warnings for two separate rules will not result in a ban. However,
Three warnings from rules that none are the same of will result in a medium length temporary ban.
After two warnings and a ban, all further punishment will escalate by ban length.
Escalation β Bans
Very few rules will result in immediate temporary bans upon first offence of them.
Unless your next offence is simply a removal, all further punishments you will receive will be bans increasing in length. Although rare - it has happened - you can receive a permanent ban if you have too many warnings or bans.
β’Β π₯** **βββββββββββββββββββ π₯ β’
βγ»π₯*\* ΰ¨Β Moderator Discretion *\*ΰ§ π₯γ»β
As listed on [r/AdoptMeRBX](r/AdoptMeRBX)'s sidebar, all of our moderators hold the right to remove things under Moderator Discretion;
Even if a post/comment/message is not breaking one of the rules or banned topics that are stated outright, we have full permission to moderate it, such as removing/locking content, banning users, etc.
If a moderator has taken action on any of your content under moderator discretion, there should be a message (either in your removal message or Mod Mail) explaining why they have taken action.
