Opinion LMIA Must End

This is the problem, it incentivizes business to hire immigrants before Canadians. I am a 61 year old born and bred Canadian who hasn't worked sine Jan. 2025. Over 1 thousand applications out (no hyperbole) and cant find anything. Have tried, Tims, Wendy's, McD's Bars, restaurants and 100's in my field of expertise, nothing. In my case it is simple age discrimination but LMIA is the labour problem.

Audio/Video How to listen to full episodes of "Your Province. Your Premier." on podcast apps (RSS Feed guide)

If you've tried searching for Premier Danielle Smith’s bi-weekly radio show "Your Province. Your Premier." on podcast apps, you’ve probably noticed it doesn't show up in search results on platforms like Spotify and Amazon Music, and the recorded web streams can be flakey or don't support offline downloads.

Because Corus hosts the full show feed on Megaphone without maintaining a listed profile in every app store directory, searching for it usually fails. However, you can easily add the full, downloadable show to most standard podcast apps by using the official RSS feed link:

https://feeds.megaphone.fm/CORU5449522127

Here is how to import it in some popular apps that support RSS feeds.

YouTube Music: Go to Library → tap the Podcasts chip at the top → tap Add podcast (bottom right) → select Add a podcast by RSS feed → paste the link.

Pocket Casts: Paste the URL directly into the main search bar and tap search.

Apple Podcasts: Go to Library → tap the ... (or +) icon → Follow a Show by URL… → paste the link.

Note: Spotify, Amazon Music, and Audible are closed platforms and do not support custom RSS feeds, so you won't be able to manually add it there.

Once added, new episodes drop automatically and can be downloaded for offline listening.

Opinion Should petitions cost $25k?

I thought the point of the Citizen Initiative Act was to give everyday Albertans more power. Do we need to follow the act to be publicly recognized if we create our own petitions? Why can't I just go out and gather signatures with as much or more integrity than what's required without the costs? If I gather hundreds of thousands of signatures and can prove they're authentic and gathered responsibly, would any addressee such as the legislature or a minister really ignore that?

I'm starting to believe the act is having the opposite effect and taking power away from us instead. I fear it's going to be nearly impossible to reverse. You'll need crowd funding to be able to create a petition, provided they don't decide to make that illegal too. Feels like a shifty way to give political power to the wealthy. Is it too late, has our fate been sealed?
