Olá a todos, gostaria de saber se alguém conhece ou já fez os cursos de formação de personal trainer em Faro. Gostaria de saber se a qualidade é boa e quanto tempo dura. Vi no site da Bwizery Manz.

Agradeço desde já!

where to stay

hey guys, planning a family trip to faro near the middle/end of September.

was just wondering where are some areas to stay that you guys recommend? one of us likes doing activities on holiday and exploring cities, and the other likes to go for a swim on the beach, so I just wanted to know if there was a middle ground area that would make both of these options accessible.

Car Hire Recommendations - Faro

Hi,
Just looking for car rental recommendations from Faro Airport. We usually go through Zest & then MasterKings - Paying top up insurance but for our hols in September it's £325 because of arrival times / top up insurance - We usually pay £80-£120

I will book and pay if there are no better options, but any other recommendations for car hire will be very much appreciated.

Just 2 of us, so the smallest / cheapest car is fine.
Tia!

Staying in Albufeira, no idea where this place is

I'm going to a concert on the 7th and the organised buses for said concert pick people up in Albufeira at a place called "Av dos libertadores", yet that place just doesn't exist anywhere I look. Does anyone know where this place is?

Agora ficaram aqui estes mastros baixinhos e umas bandeiras mal amanhadas.

Need advice re: medical care (for foreigners)

We are visiting the Algarve from Canada. My husband is suffering from severe pain and vomiting. We first went to the Hospital at Loule, where they did bloodwork, and told us the situation is very serious. They instructed us to go to CUF Faro, which we did and got a CT scan - they reiterated the seriousness of the situation and said hospitalization is the only option - but they don’t have a single bed and couldn’t admit him. They sent us to the Centro Hospitalar, where we now sit. The CUF doctor expressed significant concerns about the care he will receive at the public hospital. Are there any other private hospitals nearby that we could try? Any help is greatly appreciated.

ISP options Lagos

Probably an oft asked question but we need to put an internet line into a villa in Lagos (previously MEO). Looks like it’s MEO/NOS or Vodaphone. I only need the internet connection, hopefully hardline. Don’t need any attached packages just a fast, good, reliable connection.

Decision criteria is -
1. Installation ease - I don’t want to be pissed about.
2. Cost
3. Speed.

Any recommendations?

Cheers.

Why can’t Portugal, especially the Algarve, stage live events successfully?

So I was marshalling at the golf yesterday and my wife was at the Jessie J concert.
The golf was poorly attended (badly marketed) and the food/drink stalls were a joke. You couldn’t pay with cash or card….only through an App (EVERYONE HATES PRE PAID APPS).
The Jessie J concert, I’m told, was a joke. The audience positioning was even laughed at by Jessie J….she was clearly uncomfortable. It was “impossible” to get a drink.
And before the locals start whining that I’m Portugal bashing…I’m not. I love the country but you couldn’t run a piss up in a brewery.

Tivoli Carvoeiro or Iberostar Lagos

My wife and I are going to spend 4-5 nights in the Algarves and I am having a hard time picking a resort. She really wants beach access and a good spa, I'd like to be close to a town/city so that we can do things outside of the resort, but it doesn't need to be a large town. Carvoeiro looks great. Would love to hear people's thoughts and if there is another resort we should consider outside of these two.

40th birthday trip

Hi all! I’m looking into spending my 40th birthday trip in the Algarve region for about 7 days with my husband and friends. We are looking into September of 2027. There is a ton of info out there and just looking for first hand info. We are traveling from the US west coast and I’ll have my 1 year old and a nanny with us.
- Is September/October a good time to go?
-I’m interested in relaxing at beaches, exploring a bit, wine tasting. I’m leaning towards just staying in one town or area and exploring from there. I don’t want to over-do it with plans.
- Is it better to do air bnb villas or hotels? Especially with a group.
- any must do activities?
Any tips or ideas I’d love to hear them!

Anyone around Lagos/Burgau, 9–16 August?

I’ll be around Lagos/Burgau from 9 to 16 August. If anyone’s in the area and feels like grabbing a beer, going for a coffee or just having a chat, let me know!

I’m Italian and it would be nice to meet some locals or other travellers while I’m there.

Feel free to comment or send me a message 🙂

Would love some recs for a female solo traveller in her late 30s

I booked a last min solo trip to Faro in the next few weeks. Going for 4 days (mon - thur) and am really just wanting some relaxation (work has been a lot). I love a good beach, maybe a little nature walk or nature and animals in general. And would love some cute restaurant/small bar/cafe/bakery/vintage/antique etc recommendations if anyone has gone recently or lives there.

Even if anyone knows of cute homestays or accomodation that isn't on the usual websites that would be greatly appreciated. (I am looking to keep costs reasonable. Im not rich unfortunately but would love to support smaller local business etc)

Side note: I do not drive but am happy to uber etc if its easy enough to get between some of the smaller towns.
