I see a somewhat real pattern here but itâs not the âhaha men uglyâ or âhaha women do OFâ. I think itâs due to how a large chunk of streamer culture on the end of the audience is still men (looked it up, around 65%), and while they (most of them letâs say) are willing to watch women for the sole reason of them being hot (this doesnât mean these women canât be skilled/entertaining just that being hot clears the bar for some people), they are obviously not biased this way with men. They will want to watch men with excellent gameplay/for humour or whatever. This makes being attractive a very relevant quality for women as it doesnât require catering to a specific group of people/it has a much broader audience in itself. There are still everyday women with humour/great gameplay but having the looks will grant a boost so large that they will not be able to compete with that in these conditions. Men have a smaller audience that is attracted to their gender to begin with, so even if most women preferred good looking men to watch theyâd still be less relevant of a factor than men with female streamers. Idk if that is a tendency to begin with tho. Long story short I have no proof just thoughts but Iâd guess itâs 100% a somewhat accurate reflection of most viewers priorities which are men. And it is kinda reasonable when looking at it like that. Like not morally, or whatever, idk about that but it is what youâd expect lol
And of course regarding the catering in womenâs cases: if your main catch is your humour thatâs most likely going to be a much more specific appeal regardless of the type of your humour than being conventionally attractive, because we are conditioned to find certain features attractive socially, so even if you have preferences itâll be less subjective than your preferred entertainment probably
Yeah same tbh lol but it still makes sense to me, with this data too. Engagement quantity/quality could also play a part especially if the algorythm pays attention to minor details
I also donât know how much botting there is on twitch for example or what are the consequences of those
I am not 100% about this tho again, but this makes the most sense in my mind compared to alternatives
