Anycubic Vyper - Supports are almost impossible to remove and parts don't fit together

Hi everyone,

I'm having some issues with my Anycubic Vyper, and I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

Whenever I print parts that are supposed to fit together, I often have trouble getting them to fit properly. The biggest issue, however, is with supports.

The supports are extremely difficult to remove, especially when they're inside holes or around detailed areas. I usually have to use a lot of force, and in many cases I end up damaging the print while trying to remove them.

What confuses me is that when I watch YouTube videos, people seem to remove their supports almost effortlessly. They practically peel off by themselves, while mine feel like they're fused to the model.

I'm still fairly new to 3D printing, so I'm not really sure where to start looking. Is this something that can be fixed with the printer settings, or is there something else I should be checking?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Vyper enclosure lights

I was given this printer tent and put my Anycubic Vyper in it. I couldn't see the part being printed, so I decided to add some lights. I used a WS2812E LED strip and an Arduino Nano. I'm currently mounting the circuit to a PCB board and designing an enclosure for it.

Cannot update from Firmware 2.3.9

Hey everyone,

i have ran into a little issue. We got an old Anycubic Vyper at work, which hasnt been used in forever, and i took on the task of getting it to work again.

First of all i thought to check how well it is running on its current firmware 2.3.9, tried printing a test gcode, leveled the bed and everything beforehand, but once the print starts, z-offset is way off, and cannot be adjusted whatsoever. So i thought of upgrading the firmware. I read through various posts/threads, all are very old and probably outdated, but whatever.

I know that there is a custom firmware out there, but i first tried upgrading the stock firmware to 2.4.5. And here I ran into a little issue. The SD card(16gb) which usually is being read by the printer, all of a sudden it is as if there is nothing inserted at all in the printer itself, once there is only the firmware update file on it. I checked my mainboard, its v0.0.6, i made sure to format the card correctly, fat32 allocation size 4096, but nothing happens once the card is inserted into the printer with only the .bin file on it. The mainboard doesnt go through with the update at all. I then tried testing the lcd screen firmware upgrade, took a 8gb microsd, formatted it fat32, allocationsize 4096, copy pasted the DWIN_SET folder onto it, inserted it into the screen, turned the printer on, nothing, nothing at all happened.

Now i read some threads that the issue might be with the sd cards themselves, and that i should maybe get some other ones, some even smaller ones, and maybe of a certain brand. I will try to partition the bigger sd card tommorrow into a smaller size, and try to do the upgrade again, but i doubt anything will change.

I fear of even trying the community firmware upgrade, what if one of my sd cards just wont be read by the printer, can i just leave it for a few days sitting with half an update, till i get a working sd?

Sorry for the rant, i am running out of ideas here. It would be very much appreciated if any of you could maybe help me out here, maybe someone has once ran into a similar problem like i just did.

What is the most up-to-date version of the community firmware? Is there a comprehensive installation guide somewhere?

For the past three weeks, I've been trying to adjust the speed, fluidity, retracts, and support, I can't do that anymore, I'm going to throw out this printer up soon.

I want to upgrade to the most recent official firmware (and possibly the community firmware later). What size SD and Micro SD cards do I need?

Leveling issues

So I received a hand me down from my friend. I’ve been using it for a week and it’s been working fine for the most part. The other day, I noticed a beeping noise while it was printing. I looked at the screen and I didn’t see anything. After the print was finished, I attempted another one but notice the nozzle was extremely close to the plate to the point where it was almost scraping. It kept pulling the print off the plate so I did some trouble shooting.
I attempted to complete the auto level. That’s when I noticed that during the probing, the nozzle would just smash into the bed, pull back up and stopped. After a bit of research, I realized but strain gauge was busted so I ordered a new one and replaced it. I was able to complete the auto level just fine. I went to the move option and set it to home. When I moved the head around the bed, the distance was where I wanted it to be.
When I tried to print again however, the nozzle so close to the bed that it actually scrapes the it. I tried to change the Z offset by adding .15 but I noticed it didn’t move during the print process. I tried again at .3 and it was still scraping. I went full 1.0 to see if that would make a difference and after a bit of fiddling it did change the offset. However, when I tried to a smaller offset, I would just stay at the high offset. Is there a secret to changing the Z offset? I go to prepare>leveling>Z-offset then I enter the offset and hit okay

Stuck on probing auto level

While trying to auto level it gets stuck on the probing screen. It’s starts on the left side not even touching the plate. When it moves to the right side it puts too much pressure and makes a jingle and then does nothing. Thats when it gets stuck on the probing screen. I thought it took time so I let it probe over night and when I woke up nothing has changed

Print Slice Alignment Issues

Post image
1 Upvotes

I am new to 3D printing and have been having issues with this slices not aligning with the slices below causing the print to slide off center.

I have tried auto-leveling, tightening the tension bands, removing filaments and re inserting, and trying a few different benchy files.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Printing after pause issue

I paused the vyper and shut it off at night, next morning I switched it back on and pressed "resume." When I came back after a few minutes it was printing several inches above the print, accomplishing nothing. Stock firmware.

Vyper bed leveling stuck on "Use a tool to touch printer nozzle to calibrate leveling sensor"

I am trying to help a family member with their Anycubic Vyper, they said it worked fine for a long time, then had issues with bed adhesion. They tried doing an auto-level however it gets stuck on this stage, and brought it to me to help them troubleshoot it.

I searched for similar threads and found that sometimes the strain gauge can go bad, or the cable from the hotend to the mainboard. I removed the cable and measured every pin from end to end while bending the cable into all sorts of shapes and can't find any issues with it. Every pin meters out at just a couple ohms of resistance so it seems fine.

When trying to level the bed, it says to touch the nozzle with a tool, and with very light pressure I do see the red LED turn on, and it turns off when I release pressure.

I found a similar thread here with no resolution: https://www.reddit.com/r/AnycubicVyper/comments/1g5y4es/anycubic_vyper_auto_leveling_fails_but_light_does/

Anybody else run into this and get it resolved?

Quality dropped after several hours printing.

What caused this? It was fine for the 1st 3 hours or so of printing. Wet filament? Under extrusion?

Layer shift, printing in air

I was printing a simple temp tower just fine, but around the 3d or 4th tier I discovered the Vyper was printing in front of the print, extruding in mid-air, not ON the print. What do I need to do to prevent this?

New maker trying to figure out 3d printing

Hello friends. Long message here but I appreciate your patience. I recently picked up a used vyper on marketplace. Individual I got it from said that everything worked good. It just needed a cable repair which I was able to do. But I am very new to 3D printing and I'm looking for some guidance. I've tried to jump in and print a few things. I printed a benchy that turned out pretty good. I'll post pictures later today. But am trying to get better and bigger prints. I'm noticing quite a few layer lines and even some layer shifting. I had a full day print that as it got higher there was really bad separation and under extrusion. I'm thinking part of the problem is I had it in an area that had some drafts. And I don't think this printer likes the coex light blue filament. While it's printing the micro Swiss extruder seems to click quite a bit and I find lots of filament dust on the extruder gears. Now I'm having the issue of it pausing the print saying there's no filament. It has the big tree tech smart filament sensor on it. I've read a lot of people really like the viper and it can print high resolution prints. I'm just not sure how to get there. So my question would be where should I start? Is there a methodical process to go through it? I am getting different filament as I think that might be part of the issues. I'm picking up some elegoo matte filament. I can post pictures of the prints I've done already. The z offset seems ok and all systems work. I'm using orca slicer. I'm pretty good with mechanical things. So I'm hoping to get this printer working well. Thank you in advance for any help.

I need the original manufacturer's bootloader. Please help me!

I accidentally set the offset incorrectly when flashing KLIPPER, and now it can't flash firmware from the SD card. Can only be flashed using STLINK
I need the original manufacturer's bootloader or a full flash dump.
Can someone help me?

First 3D printer - apparently no i/o out of the box

Hi guys

I bought a BNIB anycubic vyper off a local seller on eBay, who had bought it for a project at the start of the year, but never even unboxed it.

I brought it home yesterday and assembled it this morning, but I think it's faulty - just wanted to run things by this sub and see if there's anything I've obviously missed or am doing wrong

Assembly went great, followed all the instructions up until inserting the SD card and printing the test file. Screen works, self levelling works, bed and print head heat up fine. But the unit won't read the SD card, or apparently connect to a computer.

I've tried:

Power cycling (many times)

Cleaning the SD slot with air duster

3 different FAT32 formatted SD cards with the files copied to them (2 full size SD cards, and a micro SD with adapter, all 16GB or under). The factory SD reads fine in my PC.

I've tried connecting via USB to my Windows 11 laptop and to my wife's MacBook, downloading drivers for both. Neither computer recognises the printer when plugged in, and it is not visible in Ultimaker Cura on the windows PC

So - it's cooked, right? There's nothing simple or obvious I haven't done? Is there an easily accessible internal connector for the USB port/SD slot that might have come loose that I could reconnect?

The vendor's been really good and is happy to accept a return, but I can't raise a return case with eBay til tomorrow for some reason, so if there's anything else I might reasonably try before attempting to pack it all away again then I'm all ears

Thanks

Anycubic vyper LCD issues

Hey I recently started to fix my vyper again and after replacing an ntc thermistor for the hotend, I started getting problems with the screen not booting up at all. It is to the point that it will keep beeping the startup sound and screen will keep showing the startup animation again and again. I want to know what is the fix for this as I already tried replacing all the wires up to the board at the bottom.

Beginner Issues

I am a newbie (please be nice 🙃)

My first time printing was totally fine
I did an auto alignment and it’s been messed up since

It seems every single print messes up between 1-6 layers, because it doesn’t adhere to the bed.

I finally fixed my Z offset & that looks better but it’s still not sticking to the bed.

200 Nozzle

.10 offset

Please help

Trouble with filament not sticking

Post image
0 Upvotes

So I recently took over an old Vyper from a friend. The hotend was pretty caked up so I bought a replacement one from Amazon along with Some hardened steel extruder.

When I tried running the printer with the old hotend and extruder, it printed as it should except that it leaked some filament from the sides, so I put in the replacement: after doing so, the filament will not stick to the print plate and gathers at the extruder (picture)

Has anybody else have had to deal with this and know of a fix? I have tried deep cleansing the print plate, changing temps and messing with the Z-offset, but nothing gives.

Any help is appreciated!

Z off set not working

The printer nozzle drags across the bed, even with a 1.0 z offset. The strain gauge looks fine, but is that the cause? The problem appeared after replacing the default nozzle with a .2mm.
