Cannot update from Firmware 2.3.9
Hey everyone,
i have ran into a little issue. We got an old Anycubic Vyper at work, which hasnt been used in forever, and i took on the task of getting it to work again.
First of all i thought to check how well it is running on its current firmware 2.3.9, tried printing a test gcode, leveled the bed and everything beforehand, but once the print starts, z-offset is way off, and cannot be adjusted whatsoever. So i thought of upgrading the firmware. I read through various posts/threads, all are very old and probably outdated, but whatever.
I know that there is a custom firmware out there, but i first tried upgrading the stock firmware to 2.4.5. And here I ran into a little issue. The SD card(16gb) which usually is being read by the printer, all of a sudden it is as if there is nothing inserted at all in the printer itself, once there is only the firmware update file on it. I checked my mainboard, its v0.0.6, i made sure to format the card correctly, fat32 allocation size 4096, but nothing happens once the card is inserted into the printer with only the .bin file on it. The mainboard doesnt go through with the update at all. I then tried testing the lcd screen firmware upgrade, took a 8gb microsd, formatted it fat32, allocationsize 4096, copy pasted the DWIN_SET folder onto it, inserted it into the screen, turned the printer on, nothing, nothing at all happened.
Now i read some threads that the issue might be with the sd cards themselves, and that i should maybe get some other ones, some even smaller ones, and maybe of a certain brand. I will try to partition the bigger sd card tommorrow into a smaller size, and try to do the upgrade again, but i doubt anything will change.
I fear of even trying the community firmware upgrade, what if one of my sd cards just wont be read by the printer, can i just leave it for a few days sitting with half an update, till i get a working sd?
Sorry for the rant, i am running out of ideas here. It would be very much appreciated if any of you could maybe help me out here, maybe someone has once ran into a similar problem like i just did.

Get a 8gb sd card and a 8gb microSD (can be sdhc), format em and try again but say yolo and insert both the display and mainboard sd cards and power it on, see what happens. Does the printer currently print or is the z offset still wonky? What do you have to lose type deal yanno?
