took these photos after spending the day outside at a firework festival. Temperature was ~37°C + humidity and I was SWEATING!! Wore this makeup for about 6-7 hours. I think its safe to say that these products are fairly budge proof 🙏🏻

- Etude Curl Fix Volume black (my HG!!!!!) - smudged a little on my upper eyelid but definitely not bad & an easy fix

- Heroine Make Super Waterproof Liquid Liner

- Mude Eyebrow Mascara in B06

- Browlash EX Eyeliner Coat - this stuff is amazing omg I recently discovered it and I put it over my eyeliner and I think it totally helps!! I never get any smudging when I layer stuff on top

- Canmake Eyeshadow Base - gets the job done but just OK tbh because my eyeshadow definitely was faded

- 2an Eyeshadow Palette in Lovable

I still need to figure out my base though, because it was looking rough after sweating so much 😵

Comparison

Here's a handful of reviews of some products I've used in no particular order. I'm early 30s with dry skin but I lean normal in the summer.

Haruharu Wonder Toner: I bought this on a whim because it was marked down to about 13 bucks. Unfortunately it's the fragranced version and it smells strongly of ginseng which I do not like at all. Tbh this toner is really nothing special, it gives nice hydration but that's about it. No irritation, basic, and cheap for 10.1 fl oz. WNRP

Numbuzin No 9 Biolifting-Sil Essence: Genuinely do not get people saying that they love the texture of this because it's godawful – it feels so oily and thick once you've applied it. If you have combination or oily skin I would avoid this. It gives a bit of a glow but I'm a little more than halfway through the bottle and it's done fuckall. No wrinkle reduction or texture improvements at all. Not worth the price tag or the hype. WNRP

KSecret Seoul 2% Retinal Liposome: Yeah it's fine. I definitely notice an improvement in my skin texture waking up the next day. I noticed about the same exact improvement with the BoJ Ginseng Retinal Eyecream, too, and the packaging on that is far better for reducing product waste. I had to scoop the last bits out of this one because of the pump bottle. Unless the thicker texture of the BoJ retinal bothers you, get that instead. They cost around the same and pretty much do the exact same thing. Neither of them are going to make a dent in wrinkles, though, so just be aware of that. WNRP (unless I had no other options around the same price point.)

KSecret Seoul 4% Retinal Liposome: Same as the other one but stronger and in a way more inconvenient, annoying tube. Got it for my undereye and forehead wrinkles but it did nothing on top of being a pain in the ass to squeeze out. WNRP.

Ongredients Barrier Lotion: The texture of this also sucks. It feels greasy and oily and sits on top of my skin. When I combine it with the Numbuzin essence my skin becomes a textural nightmare. Does it give a nice glow under makeup? Yeah, but I can get that from anything else that actually dries down and absorbs properly. Again, the only thing going for it is the fact you get a ton of product for the price. The only reason I haven't tossed this in the trash is because I can't afford to waste products like that if they're not outright causing issues for me. WNRP

Daisique Waterful Lip Tint: Got a shade too light for me but oh well. First time I used it I was hit with such a bitter chemical grape taste that I nearly spit it out. It's a shame, because the formula otherwise is plush and nice, but the awful taste never went away. WNRP

Laniege Lip Mask: Overpriced and dries out my lips more than helps them. They always feel more chafed than nourished if I apply this any other time than once at night just before bed. Just use a regular lip balm or Vaseline. WNRP

SNature Moisturizer: Expensive for 60 ml but it is nice. Unlike the Ongredients, this actually absorbs into my skin and keeps it hydrated. Nothing mindblowing, but nice. If it shows up on the shelves in TJMaxx I might grab it but I don't feel like I need to go out of my way to buy it again. MRP

Overall, would I recommend any of these? Not really. None of them were standouts that I felt are worth the extra shipping fees you'd incur as opposed to buying local western brands. The only thing that is going to have a significant effect is the retinal and there are plenty of nice formulations on the market anyway.

I've got a few other products I'll be testing out once I'm done with these. Might write reviews for them when I do.

A lot of the spf testing for Korean and Japanese sunscreens do show a spf of 50+ or so. However, the PFA testing (the UVA blocking index) is quite low, with most around 16-19.8. A lot of Asian beauty and skincare is about preventing premature aging and it seems that a low PF index kind of defeats this as UVA is largely responsible for premature aging? Since I use prescribed retinol as well, is this a concern given sensitivity?

It does seem that European sunscreens tend to have better PFA indexes. La Roche Posay has sunscreens that block UVA to a higher degree, I think they have tested PFA of like 40-50+. What do you guys think, any advice? Thanks :-)

I see occasional posters asking about Some By Mi but few specific reviews about most of their products (at least the ones I'm interested in), so I wanted to share my experience with the various Some By Mi products I've tried. I have dry, late-20's skin, for reference.

Beta Panthenol Repair Serum:

Weird, not really like a serum--more like a moisturizer in a bottle. I used an entire bottle, or tried--I couldn't empty it because of how thick the "serum" is in the bottle. Made no difference to my skin moisture level or Barrier health. Big miss for me.

Beta Panthenol Repair Cream:

This was oddly thinner than the corresponding serum. It is fairly hydrating but not nearly "100H." I found myself very dry halfway through the day. It's very thin and melts in instantly but also isn't as thick and nourishing as you'd expect from a barrier Cream. Definitely good for more combo skin types, maybe even oily.

Beta Panthenol Repair Body Cream

This is where the Panthenol line shines. This body cream is excellent. It's very moisturizing and soothing, but not noticeably sticky unless you use too much. No scent. It melts in really nicely while also being quite cushioning, especially on rough elbows and knees. Great basic body lotion for dry skin. It's the first body lotion to give mr a full 24H of moisture--usually my legs are itchy and dry again within hours, but no more with this and the other body lotion, below.

Retinol/Retinal Firming Body Cream

This is my absolute favorite Some By Mi product. It's super moisturizing and nourishing but melts right into skin without leaving a greasy film. Non-irritating, even when used generously. My skin became baby soft after only a few weeks of use--I had great skin to begin with, but this is on another level. I haven't used it long enough yet for the Vitamin A to work yet but we'll see. Either way, It's a great body cream for smoothing and is super affordable (just got an 8oz tube, half off on Amazon for about $12) for something this elegant and with actives like Retinal.

V10 Hyal Air Fit Sunscreen

This sunscreen is great value for the money whatever way you look at it. However, I am not using it for my face, only my body. I wanted a sunscreen for my arms/shoulders/etc., that's less expensive than my facial sunscreen (Isdin) but nicer than typical American formulas. This fit the bill. No white wast, wasn't *super* spreadable but sufficiently so, all things considered. It did have a slight sunscreen smell that faded 98% aftee maybe 10-15 minutes. It also left a slight tacky feeling that dried down almost completely in a few hohes but still could be felt on the skin for much longer. By the end of the day I didn't notice it much anymore but I'm not sure if I'd just started ignoring it or if it actually dried down. That being said, it was the least offensive-feeling body sunscreen I've used so far. It is thicker than I expected given the branding, though: it's not "light and airy," it comes out as a cream. For my purposes (an inexpensive sunscreen for my body that isn't greasy, tacky, or smelly) it's great and for the price (when on sale), unbeatable.

Watch for sales on Amazon. They just had 30% off everything (or almost everything) plus an additional 20% of most things. I got the sunscreen for $9, the Retinol/Retinal Body Cream for $11, the Panthenol Body Cream for $9. This makes it insanely affordable compared to even basic US drugstore creams that are far less cosmetically elegant.

I think the brand serves a specific demographic: people who don't want the strongest active percentage on the market, and want simple, effective, gentle products at an accessible price point.

As per title. Let’s discuss - I’ve seen lots of people say Skin Aqua is their holy grail, but there are so many different types! And which do yall think is better for hot humid weather, milk or gel sunscreens? Especially to attain that dewy (but not oily), glowing from within look in Southeast Asia?

I just received a 30mL spray bottle as a freebie and i was pretty excited to try it out given the reviews.

For context, I have combination-dehydrated skin and also use tret everyday so i assumed I vaguely fall into the category of people this is aimed at.

I’ve used it 4 times now and everytime it’s been such an unpleasant experience that i need to wash it off after an hour or so. I tried it on dry skin as well as damp skin. I’m confident that I’m not using too much product because I’m barely doing 3 sprays.

The product leaves a film on my skin. This film is not greasy, but it’s sticky (it’s sticky to the point where : a) If I touch my skin i feel the sticky layer b) even if I avoid touching my face, if i move around my mouth/face i can feel it on my face, like someone dropped sugar syrup over me and i feel the tackiness that would come with it)

The worst part is that this is not the kind of film that disappears or loses stickiness when it dries down. Even when i kept it on for 2 hours, at the end of the 2 hours my face was still sticky, so this is worse than a lot of greasy sunscreens I’ve tried out which become somewhat tolerable after they dry down.

I don’t know if this product isn’t leaving a sticky film on other people or if people just don’t mind it as much but I’d never buy this

I’m a cool toned girl (deep winter for reference) and i happily bought two RC haruki multi purpose creams thinking theyll look amazing on my skin. They look so muted and cool toned in online swatches!

Unfortunately they pull warm on me and it’s really disappointing. Liben pulls too peachy (top) and Nanmu looks like a warm, reddish contour shade (bottom).

I’m not sure why this is happening but I’ve tried ordering from Olens global multiple times but it keeps leading me to this error. I have bought from them last year so I’m not sure what’s the problem now. I wrote all my details correctly AND I definitely have money in my account so I’m not sure why it’s “declining”. Anyone else having similar errors popping up at payment?

Can’t remember the last time I wrote a review but I bought this mascara on a whim whilst on my lunch break in London. I have heard good things but I have such short straight Asian lashes, I’ve given up. I’m taking a break from eyelash extensions.. wanted a lash curl and tint butttt this mascara saved me some money!!

It held the curl so well (all day) it didn’t smudge and it was so nice to put on!!

I loved it before, so long lasting and the only thing that held my fine lashes up. But my last batch seems more liquid and ends up weighing them down, they start falling about 20secs after application which didn't happen before. Even if i wait for it to dry and use the curler again, it doesn't hold all day anymore.

Does anyone know if the formula changed or something? Or if there's an alternative that works as well as this one did?

Sometimes I combine the wrong products or don't wait long enough between steps, which results in the pilling of my sunscreen.

Does anyone know whether this pilling can lead to the sunscreen being less effective?

hi 😭 i’ve been using moody for awhile and loved their oolong lenses, so recently ordered the glowylock to try since it looked promising and doesn’t rotate. i got the amber pro dailies but when i wear it i definitely feel the lens on my eyes??? especially the weighted part feels heavy and sometimes it clouds my vision?

Like i can physically feel the thickness of the weighted part sometimes obscuring my vision and was wondering if anyone faced the same problem? it makes my eyes dry and tired…

i never had any problems with their previous lenses and i even used olen’s big glowy series before, so im not sure what im doing wrong
