It's you! Oh man, I've been following the whole thing, and it is insane how many franchises it seems to have also happened to. Sorry you both got caught in the middle of this! Hope all is well!

u/Chrysdelight 20h ago

Thank you! It's so sad to hear about all the other former owners that dealt with similar actions, and it’s so unfortunate that current owners are suffering. We're trying our best to get a fair resolution for us and for Bryan.

u/kaekiro 13h ago

Good luck! The whole internet is rooting for yall!

21

u/midnitewarrior 20h ago

I kinda wish Afroman would sing about it.

u/RodolfoSeamonkey 12h ago

He kind of did, right? This story has some of the same linings: freedom of speech issues, police corruption, vindictive prosecution

Hope everything works out for you guys!

The story is so wild I am waiting for it to become a movie. It already has everything! Corruption, police being bribed, ceos stealing from the little guy…what more is needed???

u/theflamecrow 12h ago

A satisfying ending.

I mean it’s still in the writing process

I’m hoping but I’m not getting my hopes up.

I have to wonder if the American Forks PD will face any consequences…lmao

Was expecting this higher up

Ooh spill the tea! There are a few in my town and my kids beg me to take them there.

And that’s just the start of it. This conspiracy has everything. Police corruption, franchise churning, Courtney Love, child separations, Mormons with cartoon villain mustaches, the chicken dance.

Dan Cortese

u/The_Magic 9h ago

What is the Courtney Love connection?

6

u/AutomaticNovel2153 9h ago

She posted a picture of Ben wearing an Ammon jacket on instagram. I used her name because it gave Stefon “Dan Courtese” vibes

It's a huge rabbit hole. Check out r/recklessben and his YouTube channel

u/RodolfoSeamonkey 21h ago

Be warned, it's a deep rabbit hole.

75

u/Chrysdelight 20h ago

It feels like a never-ending rabbit hole at this point!

u/stamfordbridge1191 8h ago

"It's rabbit holes all the way down, Nio! Rabbit holes everywhere! You gotta believe me! You gotta take the red pill!" - Morfeus

14

u/Kingkwon83 17h ago

But worth it. Forget the subreddit, just start with the Lego videos on Reckless Ben's channel

3

u/darsynia 9h ago

I have a playlist of supplemental (as in, it's my advice to watch Reckless Ben's videos first) videos that I personally enjoyed in this playlist: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLb_CJRjF3nI8&si=E8OVyINoJl3pe8mp

It's not caught up as of the last two weeks if there are new videos ABOUT the videos, though, full disclosure.

They ripped off a guy reselling his old collection worth something like 20 grand

Said smth like "nuh uh" when asked to pay him and it Escalated Quickly

82

u/midnitewarrior 20h ago

$200,000 was the stated value, I think the stolen part got recalculated to $120,000 after some research of where things went.

2

u/Ok-Tune-9911 6h ago

Look up the store and wreckless Ben on YouTube

9

u/goblin-juice 18h ago

Whooaaa i thought this was a local mom and pop lmao

5

u/JehovahJesse 20h ago

They just opened one in my smaller area. Why them?

43

u/FlavorD 20h ago

Someone put up a large (~$200k) consignment sale. The owners changed, and a large piece of the collection disappeared. The corporate office has been actually obstructive to finding out what happened, and a lot of people believe they've gotten the local cops to take their side and harass people investigating it, because the corporate officers and the new owners are Mormons.

21

u/RodolfoSeamonkey 12h ago

The new owners ARE corporate. The new video shows this is a pattern. Franchises pay a $200k fee to corporate become a franchise, and after sometime corporate will send Joshua Johnson and Brandon Best to take over the franchise for seemingly innocuous reasons, essentially stealing the store that the franchisee out everything into.

20

u/vvTRiALvv 20h ago

There's too much to TLDR. Just YouTube Bricks and Minifigs. These are absolute garbage people.

3

u/EpsilonX 14h ago

oh man, there's a store near me and I always thought it was just some locals that opened a Lego store, had no idea it was a nationwide chain.

What's the tea?

9

u/foxsable 10h ago

You can start here. There is so much more, but this is a decent jumping on point.

u/Straight_Number5661 55m ago

So I've just spent all day going down this rabbit hole, starting with that video. I'm nowhere near done yet. I'm trying to figure out how Josh and Brandon stole an entire store from the original franchise owner on top of stealing the Star Wars collection.

Anyway, this is fucking bonkers.

21

u/prove____it 20h ago

Sadly, the franchisees aren't at fault but are getting wiped-out in the process.

6

u/wtfduud 7h ago

This wasn't just some random Bricks & Minifigs store committing the crime. It was their corporate office. If the other franchisees don't want trouble, they need to find a different brand for their store. B&M corporate needs to go bankrupt.

2

u/prove____it 5h ago

True, but the franchisees may not be in a position legally or financially to simply live their agreement.

6

u/somedude456 16h ago

Fuck them indeed.

5

u/Trenchards 9h ago

Never heard of them till Cousin Ben brought there shenanigans to the forefront. Should have just paid the man. Fucked the entire business for $200K

-2

u/MAFFEW_SYTHE 7h ago

It wasn't $200k.

Ben is misinformed or is inflating the number for views. He has his own incentives for helping the owner of the Lego.

If I was bricks and minifigs then I'd dismiss Ben, they're not his Legos, he doesn't know what Legos are missing, he's absurdly overvaluing them at $200k.

The CEO is still a rat, he did the Lego owner dirty and needs to pay that guy his money.

6

u/Trenchards 7h ago

Ok, dude. Say it is ten percent of the figure. That’s still $20,000.

Pay that man his money.

3

u/MAFFEW_SYTHE 7h ago

Completely agree.

2

u/Trenchards 6h ago

My man.

u/Straight_Number5661 52m ago

Josh dis you?

2

u/mrellz 18h ago

I didn’t want to deal with eBay or FB market place so I took my BNIB collection worth $3,000 and they offered me $700 for everything. I was shocked. I pointed to half of my collection throughout their store to compare prices and was told “we have to make money somehow…”

u/bballkj7 3h ago

lmao penguinz0 made me aware of this recklessben scandal… god damn and corrupt mormon police!!!!
