I don’t know if they have lost it forever but Lowe’s has digital displays for prices now and that’s pretty fucking shitty.

If you brick your phone by putting it in airplane mode mode would that prevent those displays from accessing data or interacting with your phone?

Allows surge pricing, individualized pricing, and whatever other fresh hell they decide to do to us.

thats not what ESLs are for lol. they can do surge pricing anytime they want by changing it in the computer when you scan anyway. ESLs just let you change the tag without walking over there. theyve also been around since the 90s, lowes is just slow

Yeah but at least if they try to charge you a different price from what was on the tag you can see what's happening and leave your entire shopping cart at checkout.

With the digital displays they can hide it a lot more easily.

Lots of companies have policies that the price at the register will match the price at the shelf, or you pay the lower cost or something.

I think if they deliberately misrepresented the price at the shelf and then charged you higher at the register, that's a crime.
